*True Story - Done from a Roleplaying standpoint - Edited for Content*
Late on a chilly evening in Coronet, a bit weary and looking to wind down with a drink and a show at the cantina... a Corellian female walks through the crowded building, the air thick with curling smoke and more than one drunk.Grabbing a quick drink from the bar and stopping before a pair of Twi'lek dancers to watch the show. The young Corellian notices the Lekku on of one Dancers moving, and the other watching intently.
Little do the twodancers know, thisCorellian is a smuggler thathas beendone businessTwi'leks in the underworld for along time and has understood every last word, "****ing nasty haircut... ugly ****." The Smuggler glares at thespace wenchthat would say such a thing and unholsters her blaster, brandishing it forthe Dancer, a smug grin on her face. The look in her eyes enough to tell the Twi'lek that she knew exactly what had been said.
Not wanting to draw any additional attention... or bloodshed...to the incedent, the Smuggler stiffs the pair on the tip and moves on to a more civilizedMusician and finishes her drink. Tippinga rather heft amount to the Musician, as if to add insult to injury to the pair... patting her blaster and firing anothercockysmirk at the pair, who watch in awe as she walks out.

They were speaking Leku? I always forget about this I need to start paying attention. Sounds like fun and I get plenty of "dam he's ugly" in basic. My main and my alts all fell out of ugly trees, some SO bad you can barely recognize their race or gender. I'm going to look for more leku now since they're trying to be private about it. I swear this game reminds me of The Sims the way some people act.
Try out a very ugly toon its hilarious. You really get to see the lack of maturity out there, many ppl judging/insulting others on their toon's looks.

I was playing around with my alt on Starsider back during the days of holo-mania. I was in the beginning stages of Smuggler and picked up a few UW boxes to help with the PvP my guild was involved with. At the same time, I popped a holo that said Master Musician.
So...one night, I'm getting ready to head off to bed, and I try to come up with a good place to leave my AFK playing to get some XP (yeah yeah...I know)...
I decided to head off to Lok...figuring the combination of being an adventure planet and being an off-peak hour, people would be looking for a quick mind heal and wouldn't care if the entertainer was afk or not...
Anyway, I get set up in the cantina at Nym's and in walk in 3 Twi-lek females. I've got my AFK tag up, so I figure I'll sit around and watch just to see what happens. Sure enough, it isn't long before these 3 are petting each other and telling each other how good they look. I was highly amused.
Made it even more funny since I suspected at that at least 2 of them were actually MALES at the keyboard.
This game kills me...

Some of us already have lekku speaking and comprehending ability *points to lekku*. Ya know what we need? Huttese, smuggler only. Like the Secret Smuggler Handshake, except you could laugh at stupid customers all day and the only ones who would understand you would be people who know exactly what you're talking about.

I would take that. Huttese, perhaps a smuggler speech, like those pidgeon languages.

Heck, smugglers with Underworld 1 can understand jawas, so why can't they speak it? You know it'd be hilarious to see a gigantic wookie walk up to somebody and start speaking Jawa. It's sure be a lot better than driving 5000k to sell junk to a jawa for 24 credits.

I think there was an actual trade language in one of the books of the Han Solo Trilogy. Speaking that would be a cool smuggler perk, maybe let merchants and possibly even Bounty Hunters understand it to increase it's use.

Smuggler's Argot? Trader's Argot? Seems like it was something along those lines...

Reminds me of a true story.
When I was still a poor stoodent I worked in a factory during the summer, and one of the delivery drivers was a bloke called Ray. Ray had worked as a police officer in Hong Kong in the early 80s and spoke several Chinese languages fluently. These skills have their occasional uses in North West England, but not many....
So one day Ray was in the local chippy (that's fish and chip shop to you Merkins
) and was waiting for his order. A cry in Mandarin or Cantonese (I forget exactly) came out of the kitchen from a disembodied voice.
Disembodied voice: Who's this (Ray's intended meal) for?
Girl at counter (in same language): It's for this fat bloke at the counter!
Ray (in same language): Do you mind not calling me fat?
Girl at counter looks at him in horror, vanishes into backroom of shop. Ray then gets served his dinner by someone else and leaves, telling the rest of us in work the story with great relish the next day
