You can find the link on the galaxies home page where it says haden interview #2, It show a video and towards the end you get to hear what the devs plans are on the GCW.
They plan to milk all us players for all we're worth!!! A whole year before we can expect the Galactic Civil War Update. And probably 1 1/2 to 2 years for a smugg revamp

Thank goodness!
I regret to hear about the bugs that you have encountered in the Smuggler profession of Star Wars Galaxies. I can see why you might believe that we refuse to fix these bugs, however we remain very dedicated to the quality support of this title. I would suggest that you file constructive bug reports when encountering these issues through the use of the /bug command while in game – although do not file more than 1 bug report per bug. Doing so will ensure that these bugs are properly documented and assigned to be fixed – it will not ensure a time schedule when they will be fixed, however. There are clear priorities in terms of the bugs that are fixed and the new content that is to be implemented, which have been decided in the best interest of the game as a whole. It’s unfortunate that these priorities do not seem to benefit you at the moment, but rest assured any real bugs will be fixed.
It is an incorrect assumption to say that anyone who posts on our message boards about a problem is banned. Constructive posts that just list details and do not jump to conclusions or post inflammatory remarks are never banned. Those posts that result in bannings or at the very least a locked post are usually over-emotional or downright derogatory.
I am sorry to hear that you have had tickets replied to incorrectly. If there are any current issues that have not been resolved as a result of this happening, please reply with your station name, server name, character name, and a brief description of the problem, and I will be happy to forward this along to our in game support representatives. Also, please note that our in game customer service representatives are not technical support representatives, so this may account for a lack of help with the technical issues that you have encountered, if you have been contacting them with regards to technical (hardware related) issues. If you continue to have technical issues I would encourage you to telephone Monday through Friday 9:00am through 1:30pm and 3:30pm through 6:00pm PST at (858) 790 -7827.
So basically...nothing will get fixed, even if you complain to the better business bureau that SOE lied to customers. Woo hoo! ![]()

Love smuggler, looking forward to the revamp but...
the GCW should be the priority. No war is, IMO the main issue with the game. Not a issue, not a problem but the MAIN issue with the game. Having a functioning GCW would create content, improve player interactions and alleviate alot of the "i'm bored" posts. The decision to push it back beyond JTL was the wrong one.
Have to disagree here on this, remember the posts on non-consentual PvP for Smuggler? The outrage that was done over this. PvP which is the GCW that you are talking about is a small portion of the population. While I agree that the GCW revamp is long overdue, the Smuggler Revamp should be done prior to this, as one of our lines (underworld) is usable only for the GCW. In additon, any GCW content is currentlly created by players. Besides JTL will add some GCW content too.

Dude, you actually reported SOE to BBB because they didn't do the revamp
Do you know how bull*** that make me feel. To believe that because they are working on other code, you reported them. DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND HOW REDICULOUSLY HARD IT IS TO PROGRAM A GAME OF THIS MAGNITUDE
Seriously, they haven't done many profession upgrades recently. and I don't mean one or two things, I mean a REVAMP. Why you ask? Because they are working on JTL. JTL IS LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME!!! Do you realize how they have to merge these two different games into one giant MMORPG.
I think we should all have gotten an apology of some sort due to the fact that the revamp has been bumped further back, but I don't think you should have even got a REPLY from SOE because you called the BBB on them, OVER A REVAMP.
IF YOU DON'T WANA WAIT, CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT, IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Although PvP is the main component for a functioning GCW it is not the only component. A functioning GCW would and should engage all professions as they would be contributing to the war. The players that have maxed their characters, done the mission, quests, got the badgesetc are bored because there is no 'end game' which, i believe, and has been stated by the dev's, is exactly what the GCW is, an 'end game'. While your comment that current GCW content is created by the players is true, that is not at all what a functioning GCW would or should be. Right now we fight one meaning skirmish after another, with no relation between them, contributing nothing to a greater war ... because there is no war. A functioning GCW would make battles mean something in a bigger context (ie a war), would give a reason to plant a base, to hold a base, to defend a base and to conquer a base.
Wouldn't it be nice if people actually wanted faction points?
Non PvP professions would be needed, not for a break between grind sessions but in the context of running battles where support personel would need to be defended because your side will lose without them. Musician, dancers and docs would be required in triage centers for large battles. Smugglers would be needed for base take downs and for the quick fp that will enable turret placeing and possibly faction armor (if it ever becomes useful).
And from what i've seen of JTL, i can see no more war there than is currently on the ground.
Please don't get me wrong, there is no doubt that a smuggler revamp is needed and hopefully can be done concurrently with the combat revamp and the GCW revamp but in my opinion, the most needed thing in this game is a War.
