Thread: Current Correspondents Depart, Former Correspondents return ...

I was the Smuggler Correspondent prior to Caylin. I have poked my head back into the world, only to sadly find that many of the struggles I found myself dealing with as Correspondent have apparently endured. I see in Caylin's departing message that the much talked about Smuggler Revamp appears only as a distant goal.
After reading some of the postings regarding the selection process for Caylin's successor, I give this bit of advice to those seeking to answer the call:
Put the desires of the community above your own. Your goal is not to come up with the answers, nor is it to deliver Smugglers from the darkness that apparently engulfs them. You goal is to be the voice ... convey those opinions to the Powers that Be.
Have you smugglers been able to define yourselves to the Developers? At the time I left, I felt this was the biggest issue ... Smugglers were in flux basically because it appeared that the developers lacked any definitive vision of them. What were the Smugglers supposed to be? What role were they to inhabit? Do the move contraband or do they just hack terminals and weapons?
At any rate ... I hope you all have started to find your way.

Our definition is not yet set as far as game content goes. Yet our role in combat is to be defined in the upcoming combat revamp.
When GreenMarine gets back in here, we will be better able to join what we want and what they envision. Much depends on these future talks with him and the majority of that definition you wonder about will be resolved then.

On a side note, you may want to see if they will let you take your place as a blue glowie (former correspondent).

Wow! Nice to seeyou lurking around LodekDall!! I was shocked to see your name there on the thread! Very nice of you to put in some words of advice to whomever takes over for Caylin. I always appreciated your perspective on things.
