100 credits per % is a popular price ie. a 28% slice would be 2800 credits

If people spend 10k on *temporary* doc buffs, I feel they can spend at least that much on a permanent enhancement to their weapon.

I with Roin. U should be master to charge quite that much but the price of a slice MUST go up from where it is.

Do not listen to that.
That is not popular, it is used mainly by hologrinders and people undercutting the competition.
5-10k per slice is common and popular.
I personally charge 10k per slice.

I tell the customer to pay me a fair price. I try to avoid slicing like the plague, I'll only slice for mates or guild and if I'm feeling generous the random public from time to time. Charge whatever yout hink is fair. If you buying the equipment then you'll be getting a profit with anything over 600 cridits. If like me you make your own stuff then you'll make a profit with anything above 100 credits. Don't listern to anyone but yourself. If you think 100cr per % is a fair price charge that, if you want to charge 15k per slice then go right ahead. In the end it's all up to you and know one can tell you what price to set. Though if it's high expect alot of people to teel you they'll go else where or see someone undercutting you. I think this will be my last reply to a topic of this type. Good luck with your slicing. I'm off to kill some rebels and sell faction points.

Maybe on your server slices are between 5-10k, on Shadowfire and on Naritus I have NEVER payed over 3k for a slice. Not even before the hologrind craze.
As far as being the same as a Doc, Doc's need high quality organic resources, smugglers don't. Doc's need skill tapes and BE clothing to give the best buffs, all this costs much more money than the generic grind quality stuff Smugglers use to slice.
Not only that but a Doc can pretty much tell you how much the buff is going to be for and how long it will last, it's all random with a smuggler

People have been charging 5k - 10k as of late. Obviously you can charge at the high end of thet if you are a master.
I charge 8k. Could I charge more? You bet I could. Less? Yes, but why?
Some people balk at high prices, and say they won't pay that much. I tell them, "Cool, go find another master smuggler to slice your stuff then." They always come back. Does it help to be a master? You bet your sweet bippy. But in my opinion, Slicers and Novices are short changing themselves by doing the old 3k per, or 100 cr per %. Take some pride in your work, and don't let those " uber 1337 d00dz" bully you into a lower price. You've paid your dues, it's time for them to pay.

5k per weap for Rebel, 7k for Imp.
3k per armor piece for Rebel, 4k for Imperial.
If I get a bad slice, example, 15%, they get it for free.
Never once had anyone complain yet.
And, as of late, I only accept cash in the trade window.

Or when they ask you how much you charge, ask how much are you willing to pay.
You will easily make 10k per slice this way.

I personally charge a flat rate for slicing, 5k for every piece and every container. Obviously I don't slice many containers at that price but I actually like that part. Why flat rates? Because evey slice costs me exactly the same: Kit, clamp, 2 knives.
Pricing by benefit would be nice, if you could charge more for a good slice and less for a weak one. A 34% slice on a million credit acklay stun baton is easily worth 50k, but a 15% effect on a set of gloves is almost worthless. This system is a total P.I.T.A. and too difficult to explain to most consumers.
Also, I never ever slice for free. It is a very damaging practice as has been stated many times on this forum.
I charge for my time and my materials, which for now is 5k, and could go up if I get tired of slicing so much.

Weapons that cost 5k? Must be crap.
I'd pay 10k to have a piece of crap weapon enhanced.
Weapons that cost 20k a piece? Good stats?
I'd pay 10k to have the good weapon improved.
Krayted Geo pistol that costs +500k? Awesome stats?
I'd pay well over 10k to have an awesome weapon improved.
Not to mention that these sliced enhance the weapon FOREVER.
You don't want to pay 10k to get a weapon sliced, good don't. Spend 10k and go out and get 100 powerups.
In addition price is not a matter of supplies- take dancers and entertainers for example.
You pay 10k to sit for 5-10 minutes and let them run a MACRO.
I can run and make more money on a mission then sitting and slicing a group of weapons for pocketchange. I prefer to run and make that 60k mission in 10 minutes then sitting and slicing 12 items at 5k a piece, or 20 items at 3k a piece.
You want my services, you pay my price. You want me to STOP what im doing and help you? You pay my price.
