Thread: Slicing bugged?

I'm a lowly level 2 Slicer atm, but I'm having severe problems with my Flow Analyser Nodes.

Over the past few days, I have failed 100% when using them.

I've sliced about 50 weapons recently, and half of them with FANs equipped.

100% of the FAN ones failed, while the non assisted ones worked more often than not.

I asked a CSR for some help or advice, but getting a response is like having intercourse with a pillow - You're enthusiastic at first, but after that it just gets frustrating.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Maybe you're not using the node correctly. You slice the wire that has the high probability.

Yeah I'm using it correctly.

They worked perfectly for a whlie, but now 100% fails?

That has to be a bug .....

I sliced about 75 weapons for a friend last night using fans. had great success rates.

Oddily enough.... they've been wroking 100% effective for me. I've only messed up like 3 times... of course two of them were my own weapon. Dropped like 24k to get a sliced pistol caus eI had to buy 3...before getting the slice to work... guess it was better to mess my own up rather then another persons though.

Could it be the resources I'm using for the Nodes?

Doubt it....I just chuck whatever I have into them...

but if you have good criticals on 'whatever you chuck' into the node crafting... that could have an impact

- asa master artisan, this is my suggestion -

check the critical stats of the item you are crafting and make sure the materials you use are at the very least above 500 on those critical points.

use 3-5 or more FANs per..statistical averaging.

On more than one occasion, i used 7 FANS on one slice..4 said pos 3 said neg..chose positive AND STILL FAILED.

Screw it, save your resources and take your 50/50

someone else made a post (can't remeber who) about the averages of FAN. He said thatoneFAN gave you a 75% chance of the right wire, using two FANs gives you 86% chance of the right wire, three FANs gives you 97% chance. Since you can never get 100% success rate, using more than 3 FANs on one weapon/piece of armor/container is more likely to mess you up than help you.

If the first two FANs you attach say Positive, just go with Positive. the only time you should need to apply more than two FANs is if the first 2 say something different.

I really wish we could make a sticky for this.

If you use 1 FAN, it has a 75% chance of being correct.

If you use 2 FANs and both come up with the same result, you have a 93.5% chance of being correct.

If you use 3 FANs and all 3 come up with the same result, you have a 97.7% chance of being correct.

If you use 3 FANs and have 2 out of 3, you're running at about 85%.

If you're doing the opposite of what the FAN says, you should take up another line of work. (You should be cutting the wire the power is flowing through.)

personally I don't think fans are worth it.. when I was slicing I tried using them and I found them being wrong (just using one) more often than not. It was more like a 50/50 with a fan.. It'll go in streaks. just becuase it's 75% doesn't mean you won't get 10 failures in a row.

I use FAMs all the time. I just sliced 18/20 weapons using them. I only use one. I found that using more than one causes it to trick you more. I have been slicing all day and i would say that i had about 85% efficiency with FAMs
