I think that would be something nice for the smuggler. A one shot mini-pistol that can be hidden and does a ton of damage for one shot. It would be used on a timer so that people couldn't macro them as their normal fighting weapon. What do you all think?

I'd love to see hold out blasters in the game.. but then I'd also like to see holsters implemented in a meaningful way (which is how I think hold out blasters would shine as something special). Anywho, just my two credits..

You know I like. Though I think a modified thermal detonator would be even more fun. Aslong as the radius modifiers work. That would move some people up off of a smuggler. If they heard a high pitched wine and a few seconds later a big boom. That hits five or six people.
The best part it might actually work to get you out of FD. Immediately stand up and hit it. See who wants to be next to you when it goes off.
Psst I also like the thought of more players getting decent grenades other then commandos who rarely use all the grenades they are qualified for.

Not a bad idea, but I think I'd rather have a Smuggler Pistol only Master's can use. Commandos don't use their grenades, because they usually end up damaging themselves with them.

I almost took the grenade tree in Commando because I love 'nades so much and wanted to be able to use them to their full power.
edit: Also, I like the hold-out blaster idea!

Just working purely from the Star Wars roleplaying game, but the Hold-out blaster was never ment to be a weapon to deliver massive damage, that would make it way overpowered. It was always ment for people like smugglers and shady characters to use as a backup pistol. For when your regular weapon was confiscated, you still had something so that you weren't completely helpless. As i recall, a regular blaster could do like 2d8-3d8 damage, and a holdout did like 1d6 damage or something minor, but better than nothing at all.
