May as well do it here since if we mention anything on the server forum we'll get slated.

I reckon that it's high time we got together and started working towards a common goal rather then working against each other.

I'm interested in looking at a Criminal Organisation type PA, and a pricing scheme for our goods. If anyone is interested then I'm happy to accept PMs.

I'm thinking 10k per slice, and 5k for orders of over 3 slices.

I've already stopped slicing for the general public and only for guildies. Most of the time I don't even carry my tools with me.

We did it on flurry and it worked out pretty well. Hope you can get the same results.

You know what I hate most about it. The waiting.

I figure the wait is worth 5k in itself. I'm tempted to say 5k for a callout charge. Everything I slice after that is 3k.

I would love to be a part of a larger Smugglers ring for eclipse (wont be leaving my guild, but still interested) and I agree we need so sort of price structure we all agree on.

My fee's are as follows:

1% - 15% - $2000

16% - 24% - $4000

25% - up - $6000

This pricing is working very well for me and I feel it isfair forour clients. This price model got me 90Kfor and hour and 1/2 worth of work.

I'd like to say that I would be very interested. Having only recently mastered Smuggler I would also enjoy the communication with the elders of our community.

BTW Have any of you ever had a piece of armor disappear during a trade. This happened to me when I was working with a slicing client. I honestly believe the guy when he says he never recieved his right bracer. (Maybe that's my first mistake.) I felt kinda bad so I gave him my bracer, cause I hardly use it now that I'm done with the Pistol XP grind.

As of now I charge 5k flat fee per armor piece or weapon (no refunds, no discounts) and 10k per locked container.

But I do not 'offer' my services at all, I slice when I have the time and get asked while travelling through the galaxy.

Well.. I play on eclipse since november, got master smug a while ago
and I always try to keep my prices "fair" wich means prices wich won't get the custommer pissed off
under 20% - Free
20% - 29% - 3k
30%+ - 4k (U usually get more)

seriously I wouldn't charge more for one simple reason

when "wild" slicing from Player-to-Player, the custommer takes the risk, all of it, we just use 1 clamp, 1 Wuk, 2 knife charges, wich should cost about 100cr, couldn't charge 10k for this, it wouldn't be fair.

where u can charge WAY more is when you take the risks on your own, and this is money generating

I started a weapon sliced shops, spent 3 days and several millions to stock the vendors.

basically, it works like this
under 20% slice - Sale is screwed, I'll sell em very cheap, less than the price I paid in the first place
20%-25% slice - Regular, basic slice, I make little benefits on those
25%-29% slice - Basic, high type slice, they are rarer, I make abit more money on those
30%+ - Rarest ones, I make a large benefits on those as I have to slice many guns to get a 30%+ slice, price dramatically increase on high end loot made weapons as they're more expensive and as I lost alot of money if I land a 16% speed or so.

I'm sorry, I can't agree with your system, even tho I understand you'll have to earn your money, but "wild" slicing is not a way to get the money, people just won't pay 10k to see their "uber" acklay power hammer screwed with a 16% speed slice, but they'll be pleased to pay ALOT for a pre-damage-sliced.

it's just a matter of risk, and it isn't fair to charge alot if you don't take any risks.

in the other hand, land a 30+ damage slice ona 200k worth dxr6b rifle and you'll make 800k benefits.

I never earned money with wild slices, but since I opened my shop, believe me, the money's rushing in my account.

FYI, at the beginning, artisan xx4x was a pre req. for smuggler, and I bet it was on this specific purpose. Spend Skill points on business (not even need to go merchant, just pickup a vendor from artisan tree), stock your vendor on a regular basis, keep prices fair, add well, and you'll be rich.

Im making alot of money with my current price system and it seems fair for not only me but my clients so im sticking with it. I wont charge a flat rate, but thats just me.

Ok, I'm not going to force you otherwise Yimaz. I'm not the sort to suggest that everyone has to fall in to my line of thinking. But you do highlight a point I feel I need to make.

Doing missions on Dantooine I can make 90k in about 30...35 mins. Thats why for me, the slicing has to be valued higher.

First of all I personally am against a charging structure which pays us for the result of the slice. It's funn that one person says we shouldn't charge a flat fee because it's random and I say thats the very reason we should. It's pure luck but the service we perform is the same regardless of the result, it still takes the same amount of time.

Although it's random everyone gets a run of bad luck from time to time. I'm strongly against slicing a full suit of armour and having to do it all free just because we got unlucky.

I disagree that the customer takes risk at all. Providing I use a clamp they get a guaranteed increase in the performance of their equipment which lasts the entire duration of that piece of equipments life-time. I disagree that a 16% slice screws the equipment. The fact remains that I can complete a 7k mission in under 5 minutes. If it were a case of someone asking me to slice whilst I wait for a starship I'd consider charging less. Most of the time it takes from my time whilst I wait for them to come to me. That's why my original idea was a callout charge then a cheaper rate for each item sliced. If it were priced at 3k callout, and 3k after the third slice I'd be cheaper then a flat 5k.

The sad thing of it is that what you propose is a system where if we do a bad slice for a person we get paid commensurately. They pay us next to nothing for our services. However, if we get a 45% encumbrance slice on a Composite Helmet we don't get paid commensurately then. We get 4 or 5k for increasing the value of their armour tenfold.

For those of you interested in setting a pricing scheme, which do you favour. 5k flat rate or 3k plus an initial charge or the sliding slales suggested?

10k to slice a container, unless the person is still a novice at which point they can do it for free.

I think the discussion for spices at the moment is moot since it's virtually a dead market till the revamp. Suggest we get together and discuss it then.

Well I do not strongly disagree with your scheme, as I don't slice on demand anymore, so basically you're free to do what you want.

but seriously, if you're about money, you'll just notice you can make way more running a shop if you keep your vendors stocked. I did that cause if I'd charge 10k a slice, I wouldn't think it's fair and I'd feel VERY bad if the guy gets a 15% speed slice on a weapon he paid 500k or even more (cheapest berzeker rifle I got costed me 750k, was happy it was mine cause I got a bad speed slice).

I just feel too bad for custommers when they're unlucky, that's why I don't slice on demand anymore, I don't get so frustrated anymore, and I make way more money, just for example, within the last 12 hours I made nearly 2 millions from my shop, and I never had to do missions for cash since it was opened.

I doubt you can rally all smugglers on eclipse under your 10k/slice flag, for several reasons:

there are not many smugglers on eclipse if you don't count hologrinders as smugglers

I know a bunch who're doing like me, simply cause the cash is better and the system is just more convenient

and I know a bunch who are okay with their pricing system, and wouldn't feel to be fair to charge more.

your idea isn't bad, the only issue is that it's based on your very personnal point of view, you do think it's a fair way for everyone, I have no doubt you're sincere, it's just that other people feel different about slicing.

when I propose services, I try to think as the custommer would think.
for "wild" slicing, as a custommer, I wouldn't pay 10k
for shopping, as a custommer, I'd hardly pay over a million for a weapon, unless it's a very good/rare weapon, with a very good damage slice.

of course, running a shop is an investment, it costed me nearly 3 millions just to stock my vendors, buying crates, stacks of weapons of all types, then I spent other millions maybe 2 or 3, buying rarer weapons to stock my thing with. but the fact is that in a few days, I got all that money back, and made some serious benefits, and I tried to keep prices fair, wich means I'm cheaper than other places, I saw weapons like those I'm selling, going for several millions specially high end DXR6b rifles, the most expensive in my vendor was at 750k, sold yesterday and made more than 500k benefits on it, thing you'll never get if you slice on demand. 500+ damage T21s go for 500K+ easy, I sell mine under 150K, and still make awesome benefits.

seriously if you want money, run a shop, plain and simple, cause "wild" slicing won't never be good $$$.

a custommer who'll get very unlucky and get bad slices on like 5 or 6 weapons, for 10k a weapon is a custommer you'll lose for sure, but a custommer who knows that he could find the weapon he wants with the slice he wants at your shop will be pleased to pay more credit to get rid of the luck factor, that's just the way it works. at least from my point of view.

I won't interfer in your business anyway, as I said, I don't slice on demand anymore. and I wish you all the luck you can have to gather people as it's a noble thing.
