Thread: I understand you have all the right to slice at whatever price you want, but this is ridiculous.

When I was trying to get slicing xp I did containers for free and weapons/armour for 50cred per %.
This didn't work well, so after I got slicing 3 I had to do the rest for free.
Now I have slicing 4 and I charge 100cred per %.
As soon as I get master, it will go to 5K per slice.

I see people slicing for 1k? 2k? My god, that's a ripoff smuggle-wise. Why would you even do that? Most of these people, too, are 0400 slice jockeys. I don't slice below 5k, but every smuggler I see does.

But if I am in a festive mood I might do it for 5k.

well me and all the smugglers/aspiring smugglers I know are forming an organization (on gorath server). it's not a PA, just an interplanetary company, we all sell spices at the same price, and slice at the same price. We basically eliminate part of our competition and gain strength. If you are interested email Swazi on gorath server. We are just getting started.

you'd get laughed outta town if you tried to charge 10k for a slice on Ahazi, but then again there's a good number of smugglers on this server.
4 to 5K is all we get....

A good friend of mine that i intrduced to SWG was asking me about slicing, he was under the impression it would cost 1 or 2 HUNDRED credits per slice!!!! not percentage, per slice...... i couldn't even cover the cost of my toold for that, never mind, pay for my factories, housing etc....
10k falt rate or go find someone else.
I have noticed that there are a lot more smugglers on Eclipse of late, obviously most Jedi have DF1 for feign, but there are alot of slicers hanging around both Naboo and Tatooine, planets i spend little time on

Offering slices for between 1 and 3k, where as masters elsewhere are charging upto 10k.I also went shopping for weapons yesterday, and was lucky enough to find a good sliced weapon vendor (im not master yet) and a 30+ slice on a weapon increased the sale price by a facto of 5. i bought 10 weapons at 50k a shot, unsliced theysellfor between 7 and 10k.
People underestimate the effect a good slice can have on a weapon, and yes it can be random, but the average damage slice weapons were still selling at 30k, slicing is garanteed to improve an item, (my 750k comp suit that just ran out of condition for example) if they don't want to pay for this improvement in both performance and quality then they can go somewhere else in my opinion.

You just answered you own question. They are level 4 slicers and not Masters. I have other characters on other servers and I will not go to someone to have my items sliced unless they have their Master Smuggler tag up. You get what you pay for. If these peoplewant topaybetween 300 and 600k for a set of good comp armor and then go to a level 4 slicer to get it sliced only to have half of it sliced for 13% percent then that's what you get for 1-2k a slice. That would be like buying a Ferrari and taking it t the local hack garage to have a cheap turbo installed. Me personally I am willing to pay more for a Master slice.

You think thats bad? Theres a rebel smuggler on my server offering free bulk slicing (100 items minium) to weaponsmiths and armorsmiths because he wants to convert the XP to FS sence XP...
