Thread: Dig against Smugglers?

Actually the devs vision of "Cloak" is an alpha strike ability.
Did I say no list? No, what I said is when devs ask for Top X issues they get the Top issues that are doable and/or game breaking. Of course, I guess I could keep asking for a revamp similar to Smugglers instead of incremental changes that have the same effect over time, you want to wait 2+ years for improvements?. You have no idea on the number of debates and posts on the corr. forums that resulted on us getting names from Seekers, ditto on the offline Jedi on terms issues, or the /offerride changes.
Why have a correspondent then?We know how the Devs/Producers feel on certain issues, but how can it hurt to let them know we still want change?
I'd rather have a list that's ignored than no list at all.
I'll refrain from comment and let the words do the talking...
but... then again...
But he is also saying that he is asking for incremental changes that add up to the same as a revamp. Implying that if we never asked for a revamp and instead just asked for 1 little thing at a time, we would be revamped by now.
That could be contrued as a dig at us, but I am of the belief that it is more of a dig to the devs, who can't follow through on a revamp, but occasionally will do a small profession fix.
well Tanks kinda has a point. it might be more effective to ask for small changes rather than one enormous revamp.
but come to think of it, we're not asking for an entire profession revamp anymore. we have gotten many nice changes to our exsisting skills (and some not so nice). but what we really, truely want is to Smuggle. that's not a revamp. that's just a profession-specific mission system. that's just profession-specific content... something that several other professions already have.
besides,i don't think he'd take an intentional dig at us.

but theres also a piece we're missing... smuggling.. and.. .well... that doesn't seem so incremental... missions or other activities wont just pop out of nowhere.. its like adding the invest line, when there wasn't one yet, and coming up with everything from those seekers and mission terms and informants... not simply incrementally tweaking whats already in game

It's certainly wiser to go for incremental stuff over massive demands (so long as there are incremental changes being made, at least), but Tanks' comparison is flawed at a fundamental level. The BHs have always had a bounty hunting system, and however rudimentary it was, that made it possible to slowly expand it, adding one piece at a time till they're where they are now.
Smugglers have never been able to smuggle; there's no such thing as contraband, there's no way to check for it or confiscate it, there's no need to covertly transport something from one place to another.
Kind of hard to ask for incremental changes when there's nothing to build them on. It'd be like dumping bricks down a well.
with us stuck at the bottom

Isn't there a particular Dev that's screwing Smuggler up by putting a block at the head office to make sure no more professions are doing anything illegal? I'm sure that I read a post about this guy a few months ago...no more glorified criminals & stuff.
mhm.. never heard about that..
