...Ever.
So why'm i posting here? Simple. Im biased towards the smuggler community, and would prolly spend all my time here even if JTL info were released on another board. The folks just dont get friendlier than this community.
Right, now that ive buttered you all up enough to avoid getting one-starred (there were a few who had to be bribed), ill ask my question.
I understand that Han Solo, who is played by Julie Andrews, or maybe Harrison Ford, is a smuggler and a source of inspiration to all of us in the same profession. I managed to catch a bit of one of the SW movies while it was showing on the movie channel, and it certainly grabbed my interest. Didnt get to see Han Solo, but i did happen to recognise quite a bit from the game, like jedis (doh), droids, STs, and the soundtrack. Whats funny is, im pretty sure when you folks first started playing the game, you were thinking to yourselves "Holy shi-tonastick, SoE sure took some great pains to incorporate content from the movies into this mmo", where as while i was watching the movie, i was thinking "Ja-hesus Christ, they have a tatooine in the movies too?".
Now that ive provided you with a l'il background on the pitiful life i lead, i'd like to solicit help from any of my fellow smugglers. I searched Yahoo for a brief moment, but couldnt seem to find the exact order in which the movies were released. I'd like to watch them in sequence to understand just what the hell was going on when the long-haired freak and his disciple took the little slave boy on a journey to meet with what i could only describe as a high council of barnyard animals. Not to worry, though. While perusing other SW fan forums in search of the movie titles, i happened upon the post of some scumbag who let me know that the little blond boy turns out to be Vader's son. Lucky for him, i still dont know who Vader is.:/
So...Could someone be so kind as to list the titles in order for me so that i can bring myself up to speed? :-)

ROFL. sigh...
lol
ok so the thing is the 4th movie was actually released first. You could watch them in the order the plot moves, but I would recommend watching them in the order they were released. Firstly the 3rd one isnt available yet, and you might as well get the epic experience that everyone else had.
Get the WIDESCREEN version!!
Star Wars: A New Hope (episode 4)
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back (episode 5)
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (eposde 6)
Then go back and get the pre-story
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (Episode I
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (Episode II)
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (Episode II)

lol..That was quick. Thanks guys.
So the first one to be released, apparently, is episode 4? Thats the one that came out in the 1970's, if im not mistaken?
That's pretty creative, releasing prequels after sequels.
(Just to recap, i go with episode 4, then 5, then 6, then 1, then 2, then rinse and repeat 37 times to be on par with a regular SW fan, right?).

My mind fails to comprehend a human who has not seen Star Wars, seek penance before it is too late!
Yep, watch:
Episode 4: A New Hope
Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
Episode 6: Return of the Jedi
If you don't get to 1 and 2, you aren't missing much. It would be interesting to hear the impressions of someone who just saw all 5 for the first time, though, rather than most of us who had 4, 5, and 6 drilled into our minds before the prequels. Lets face it: We would have hated the prequels no matter what, theres no way they could have lived up to our expectations. However, even accounting for our bias, they were still awful. Tell us what you think! 'course, the orignals do look fairly hokey now. The special effects are rater amusing in this day and age, but give them credit, it's old
.
And yes, Solo was played by Harrison Ford

Don't feel too bad man. I didn't watch any of them for the first time until 1996 even though I lived through the theatrical release of Empire and Jedi. My wife, then new girlfriend, and I were talking on the phone one day, and I happened to mention that I get a lot of grief from my friends because i had never seen Star Wars. Little did i know that she was a complete SW geek. So in the good graces of trying to get some romantic attention, I agreed to watch them even though I really didn't want to. To be honest with you, I had never been so entertained in my life than I was when I watched A New Hope for the first time. I promptly bought all three and began reading the novels about a year later. Low and behold, my first novel was "The Hutt Gambit" which is the second book in the Han Solo trilogy. It was about that time that I began thinking that it would be so cool if there was a game where you could play the life of a regular guy in Star Wars and choose your own path to follow, etc.
Then about four months ago, a friend of mine told me about this game. Granted,I tried a few other things before settling on Master Smuggler/TKM with some pistoleer and medic thrown in, but once I started heading dow the path of Smuggler, I knew I had found my calling.
Anyways, after you watch the movies like 800 times, then you may want to check out the Han Solo trilogy and some of the other books out there that were published before Lucas had a brain fart and switched back to Del Rey publishing. Great adventures are there to read and make you salivate for the days when our revamp becomes realized in Publish 85,426.

I remember one time I was at a friend's place, I brought over Jedi Outcast (it was just released), we start playing and whatnot. My best friend who was there looks at my friend killing people with his sabre and asks "Is a lightsabre made out fo photons?" I say "No...crystals..." he replies "So photons?".
He still hasn't seen Star Wars.
