As of that update, they're really more Rogue then Ranger.

Well, seem to be part rogue, but mostly a special forces type more along the lines of a military/US Army "Ranger". 'm sort of afraid to see what the commandos are saying, but it is one approach that Rangers have been asking for for some time. Tracking will certainly be missed, but I don't think being a glorified meat gatherer (that isn't at all needed with post CU CL80 missions and pre-cu with combat teplates that could harvest more per hour with just novice scout).
Isn't that sh*t. Did the ranger just get the smuggler upgrade or what!?!
W*T*F is so "Ranger" about urban stealth and stealing? Isn't that what smuggler has been asking for since launch?
