Thread: Smugglers Ignored Again Movie at 11..

Now thats inevitable I know, but what really annoys me right now is the total lack of any response from the Devs. Wes has asked for an explanation and got nothing, we cried out for one and have been ignored. As always we, as a comunity, have come up with numerous ideas and suggestions and as always the dev's have ignored them.
Thanks Dev's for showing us yet again how much you care.
Movie at 11 is a special documentory on the extinction of the Smuggler (big S) species in SWG.
Oh, and a note to tiggs, next time (God forbid there actually is a next time, I doubt theres much left to nerf) that you have to announce a nerf to a Smuggler skill, don't introduce it with a damn smilie.
Edit: I know a lot of you have offered the "never supposed to be used in PvP reason", and that could be right, but this is more about the lack of Dev feedback than the actual reason why.

If I were to direct a movie about Smugglers, it would consist of a two-hour shot of a wide, empty, windy desert. Sometimes a tumbleweed rolls by. Sometimes, a man in a prison guard uniform and giant mirrored aviators' shades shoots at the tumbleweed.
Guard: "Damn Smugglers... hidding in those tumbleweeds." /shakefist
Note to self: more working, less crazy posting

And sometimes he does knock a smuggler out of the tumbleweed, but even when they're faking it he DBs them and waits for the next one to roll along.

Ouch...

Is there some spot where they actually talk about the dynamics of this nerf? There seems to be conflicting opinions on just how it will effect the skill and its use.

In PvE, there is no change, as MOBs will think you're dead. In PvP, if you can truely fool your opponent into thinking your dead, then it works for you. However, its more likely that your opponent will know you're faking, and continue to attack, since they can now incapacitate and deal the deathblow while you're in the feigned state.
But you can't, because of the /db command
If death was automatic, then the change would add that 'fooling' edge, if we appeared dead (which we don't, of course). The fact that players have to be db'd totally destroys FeignDeath because FeignDetah is misnamed. In PvP it's always been FeignIncap, and that, alongside the Jedi exploiters, BH whiners and useless devs, is thet heart of the matter

The way I look at it is that all the MOBs you come across are the "average person", whereas players are the people who are above average. Not nessicarily in combat, but simple knowledge and awareness.
Its not so bad thatthis change took place, Feign Death was being abused left and right making it a game breaking skill, but I still wanna smack a dev for the way they presented this to us, however.
Ok, well, if that is the case and it does not effect PVE, than I am ok with it. I never felt FD had a place in PVP personally.
