Thread: FYI new update on FD and corpse camping
Hey everyone. After some lengthy discussions, the CS management team has come up with answers to the two other topics in this thread's discussion: the camping of a deceased player, and camping or continuing to attack someone who's feigned death.
On corpse camping:
The honorable thing to do, would be to give the victim the opportunity to flee. That being said, Customer Service will not be involved in active enforcement or disciplinary action related to corpse camping, as there is no way for us to consistently police these incidents. Even with a very quick response from a CSR, there is too much that goes on that we don't have a chance to see 'live and in context'; and that prevents us from being able to judge each situation on an equal basis.
For those of you not on the Councils: to help prevent someone finding your name on the terminals, you'll want to keep your visibility in check. While it might be nice to run around Coronet brandishing your lightsaber for oohs and ahhs, your visibility will go through the roof. Keep the following things in mind while traveling and hunting: Equipping and/or utilizing your lightsaber within range of any humanoids (PC or NPC, grouped or ungrouped) will generate visibility. Activating/using a force power within range of any humanoids will generate visibility.
One note: Thunderheart recently posted the message SWG Changes Part 1: Removal of Temporary Enemy Flags (TEFs) which makes some adjustments to the current BH and Jedi interaction. Once this has been tested and implemented, we will take another look at the interaction between the combatants, and make changes to our policy if necessary.
On being attacked while feigning death (FD):
The current use of Feign Death in a PVP encounter prevents the opponent from dealing a death-blow to your character, but does not halt the current battle, and does not prevent further attacks from your opponents. Knowing this, if you choose to use feign death, you do so at your own risk: Customer Service will not become involved with complaints of 'black baring' or similar actions while in an FD state.
As part of the announcement, a copy of this post has been sent to the entire SWG-CS department, and is considered in effect immediately. Thank you for your patience while we reviewed these difficult situations.

Well, not really a shock - if the choice is between:
a) Waking up from Nacho Induced nap to start Enforcing/Discipliningincidents or
b) Doing jack all nothing
Then human nature being what it is, "b" is the only obvious solution
Don't really have a problem with this per se - not entirely thrilledbecause it doesn't mention incidents that may "cross the line" into griefing but whatever. At least if playersknow the rules they know what they can/can't do and what they can/can't complain about.
Cheers
