Thread: Did Caylin leave again?

I was internetless for a few weeks around the end of December into the beginning of January. Since I've been back I haven't seen any posts by him. I thought he had access still because of the CURB sandbox, but has that changed?

Just wondering.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

I was wondering this myself.

His last post was on 1/26/05, so he's been AWOL for 6 days - not like him to not post in that span of time, chatterbox that he is.

Didn't even see his post on the 26th, thought he had been gone much longer.

6 days isn't as bad as I thought. I half expected him to jump in on the discussion last night though.

Well they haven't cut me off yet. I'm just extremely lax these days in staying updated till there is something that catches my interest... as a certain thread Wes started in the c-forum did.

Fun thread, if you like punching holes in the wall out of frustration.

Don't get me wrong, it's not something prompted by the developers. Fellow man and all that.

Wow... we're naming names again. You have to admit that that whole thread got rather funny after awhile.

I agree totally that for the most part, it's the whining few (or even majority) that keeps this game from being something greater than what it is. If they'd just learn to ignor them for about 3 months they would bring so many people back to the game and the whiners would get over it.

As far as others and their ideas and such. What I can't stand is when someone screams for something to be taken away. I don't care what the problem is, there is always an alternative besides a general nerf. For one profession, and moreimportantly a correspondent, to call for the removal of another professions ability is the most despicable thing that can be done. Call for a fix. Call for an alternative. Never call for a nerf. When people realise that the more they nerf, the less of the game there is, then they'll get the point. Not to mention when they realise just because someone else is getting something doesn't mean it effects them or they need the same/similar thing as well.

Oh yeah, and thanks for dropping by Caylin. I thought about asking if you were a dude orchick just to draw you out, but figured this threadwould be better instead.

I personally do not like how the Jedi correspondent included in the Jedi Top 5 a TON of suggestions to ALTER the Bounty Hunter profession. He actually suggested that Jedi missions should be in the master box. On top of that, he whined that BH's get the first strike (which is basically one of the only advantages of being a ranged BH). He said a pile of other things that Jedi felt wasn't fair in relation to bounty fights.

One thing he DID NOT mention was that Feign Death absolutely destroys the involvement of Jedi in bounty missions, as well as the intended Jedi visibility/risk system that is damn well a part of being a Jedi. I confronted the Jedi correspondent on the issue and publicly, as well as privately.

I will not tolerate a correspondent supporting issues that make a Jedi's life a cake walk. To put it plainly, I think the Jedi correspondent is a wimp. It is his job to pass on how Jedi feel, which tends to be on the whining side, but I'll be damned if he will make suggestions to neuter the BH profession and plunder smuggler for a game breaking, albeit poorly designed, skill.

I have said my fill of this fellow. I only hopes he bucks up to the bar.

That makes me angry in a way I never knew existed....

I feel like ripping someone's arms off.

*calls up token wookiee*

Dude, he just said "Let the droid win."

Time for some arm-ripping! Go get 'em!

*sics her wookiee on teh Jedi Corr*

*laughs in evil bliss as her wookiee rips off the Jedi guy's arms and shoves them down his throat*

Ah, I feel better now.

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.
