Am I reading this right? Do I not have to be overt to sell faction?


Forgive me if this has already been discussed but I've been out of the loop for a week or so since my PC died.

Indeed, that's what crossed my mind! I've always been neutral (working for the Hutt ) but if this works the way I think it does, I might join faction, buy my way up to Colonel, stock up on FPs, and go "on leave" until someone needs FPs bought


That way I can still RP being a criminal with the "on leave" status and just sell faction when I want to. Then go right back to "on leave" again.


Kind of cheesey but.../shrug. Thoughts?

Hmmm...I'm really having mixed emotions with these latest announcements...


New TEF and faction status system:


New faction base system:


My main concern is what this will do for FP sales. (Yeah, I know some Smuggler will soon point out that FP brokering is NOT SMUGGLING, but is IS profitable.) And, granted base purchaces do not make up a large portion of my sales, but I was hoping for it to pick up after the CURB.


I guess I'll just play "wait-n-see" like always. And restructure my business plan accordingly after it all shakes out...

Actually I think the disposable PvE bases, if they don't get abandoned as worthless, will increase our sales, and hopefully the new rules will encourage faction sales. But yeah...we'll see.

With every factionned players being able to buy any perks of their faction + the GCW being more meaningful and peoples having a real advantage in placing bases, it should increase our FP sales I think.

But as you say, we will see.

So...another question...is this THE GCW revamp? Or it's beginning?

I'd say this is just the beginnings of a GCW revamp...


Since, technically, the GCW revamp is still scheduled for AFTER the CU...along with everything else.

According to TH, these are "smallish changes" that they thought they could work in the next few weeks. If you don't believe me look his later responses to the GCW changes thread.
