TFN has an editorial on SWG. From a former player who works for/with TFN. ery bad PR for SOE, Here's a link if anyone has not seen this yet......... (clickey plz)

Some responses support the editorial author, some opposed to his views, but otherwise a thoroughly entertainng read.


Any response to this bad PR Sony?

You might have to start fixing stuff if these bad reviews start picking up steam. Eventually you're gonna really p*ss off someone who has enough clout to cause yu guys some real big issues, and where will that leave you?

I'd give you my guess, but you'll probably ban me for saying so......


Any feedback from the smuggler community on this?

Aww, mine wasn't mentioned in the feedback... Prolly hasn't read it yet... Should be there though. Hopefully he will mention it when he does a tie-back feature. It is about time we smuggler's get some respect.

The article hits pretty close to home...actually right on. I wish the writer could have said a little more about "the plight of the Smugglers," or at least posted some of the e-mails he received on the topic.


Waiting for this thread to be deleted too.....

I'm not surprised, the article is a couple days old on TFN, and I was not on forums at all yesterday......I usually hear everything about 2-3 days after everyone else. I though I'd post it(posted in eclipse forum as well), I want to see SOE's response to this bad PR (probably won't get one though, exept the deleting of this thread and/or me getting banned for bringing this up again)

Oh, I am sure the author of that article would have been warned that missing threads were deleted. It's a given.

Again, my view. Why can't it be L/A that doesn't care, rather than SOE? I've already heard the "Everyone wants to be a Jedi and wave a lightsaber around" comments from Lucas Arts execs, and also the "We already know we have had some pretty bad games in the past and are trying to but that behind us." How far behind, I wonder?

QFE, nothing pisses me off more than people thinking that LA is somehow this magical group of people who if left in charge would save the game. They are as responsible as SOE if not more for the state of SWG IMO.

I agree...It wasn't SOE's idea to have Greedo shoot first...

You make this sound like its a big deal, but in truth SWG has gotten a steady stream of bad reviews and articles since it was released. It's nothing new and SOE is already paying the piper. Star Wars is a MAJOR international IP - it should be getting 2 million subscribers like WoW but clearly it is not. If anything the Star Wars IP is the ONLY factor that gives this game its 200k+ subscribers. If this was some generic sci-fi (like Imperator) it would have the subscriber base of AO or even worse, AC2, which have both had some extremely bad press.

I don't usually pay attention to game reviews as I rarly agree with the reviewers. I'd rather just play. I caught this one because I visit TFN here and there and that's where I found this one. (not as much after ep3)

I wish it was big news.....then they might have something to choke on. I just wish they'd care about the money they were loosing and allow the ppl closer to the game, ie. devs, to make some of the decisions about what is important. Instead they have these suits, who none of em probably play video games, calling the shots.


I gues bad press isn't as damaging as it used to be......................
