Thread: FINALLY- something that has NOTHING to do with our revamp
If you could add 4 professions and two races to the GROUND game what would they be? And why?
Mine are:
Professions:
Miner-
This was removed from the game before release for whatever reason- but I think it would be cool- I wouldn't put any certs on the harvs we have now for them BUT I would allow them to create enhancements to make harvs function better
Long ago an idea was floated about having Miners be able to combine two resources to make an "Alloy" resource that would have the best of both stats and could be used in place of hard to get resources. That wouldv'e been cool.
Lots of stuff you could do with this prof- add to survey mods, earn extra lots- etc.
You'd need Survey 4 to get novice.
Warrior-
Because mastering Medic leads you to awesome elites like Doc and CM- Master Scout leads to Ranger and (hopefully) Master Artisan will be required for Shipwright- I think Master Brawler should go to Warrior.
A warrior would be good at all melee weapons (but not as good at a two handed sword as a swordsman).
At novice the warrior would get some new weapons like Mace- Vibro Mace- Whip- Broadswords, halberd, nanchuks, sai, etc-
They would also get armor mods so they could wear the heaviest of armors with less encumberance.
Generals- (Rebel/Imperial)
Yeah, I know already that you can work for a faction as it is- but I think it would be REALLY cool if you could attain the rank of general as a PROFESSION.
You would have to do missions that are handed to you from recruiters to get exp.
These missions would be very hard to do solo- They are meant for you to group a team together.
As you climb the trees you would get bennies like-
-Calling in Raids of NPCs (and be able to give them assignments)
-Extra factional pets (of course)
-80% off factional gear
-the right to wear factional uniforms
-Huge bonuses to factional kills.
At Master you would attain the title 5 Star General but there could only be a certain number of Generals per server.
A 5 star General would be able to place bases and time out NPC attacks on cities/player cities- bases- in order to control Zones of a planet
This would be like adding a "Civilization"-aspect to the game but it would DEFINITELY keep the GCW HOT!!!
I think the pre-reqs would be high on this though- You would definitely HAVE to be a COL. in your faction and maybe a Squadleader Novice (I say novice because squadleaders are good in the field- Generals are usually NOT on the field).
My two races would be:
The Bith- cause they would be cool to see in cantinas- even if they were afk.
and
DROIDS
It would be Awesome to play a droid!! You would be impervious to State attacks and Poisons BUT you could not be buffed and would get penalties for taking profs like Brawler or Dancer.
I think though, instead of adding professions to the ground game, they might have been better served having fewer. For example, Chef and ID could have been combined in some way. Until recenly chef had almost no abilities, and I find it hard to imagine ID's ever being necessary within the context of the game. And I think Ranger could have been tied into BH, SL, or Commando. I think Ranger really could be a cool profession, but as it stands now, it's more a complimentary profession for something else. Instead of stretching skills to try making a real profession, they might have been better served spreading those same skills into comprable profs.
Looking at several of the professions, they seem more like collections of skills rather than actual professions. Like the developers had some wonderful ideas and then put the professions together to suite those smaller ideas. Just my opinion though. And I don't mean to insult anyone in those professions, cuz I do have respect for all the profs in the game. I just think those professions could have been better served upon launch, but have high hopes all the professions in this game prove themselves grand in the coming months.
hmmmm...
who was the green squid head jedi in episode 2 with the big smile? That would be a fun toon to have. AWado type toon be fun as well, short, ugly and flying around.
Professions:
Pod Racer - need i say more.

Actually I was thinking about nerf-herder. They'd just move one herd of nerfs from one side of a planet to the next, back and forth, all day long. Sometimes they could slaughter a nerf and sell it to a chef or something, but mostly they'd just herd em.And nerfs are non-aggresive animals, so CHs couldn't train them to attack or anything.
LOL.....LOL and LOL.....I want to do this profession!
In hindsight, I think it's too late. We already have nerf-herders in the game.
Moving nerfs from one place to another...one profession to another....?

this would be a good addition have a profession tha tis specificaly designed to find the rare minerals at the highest lvl stats as possible, as there is always a demand for minerals they would amass a small fortune.
Warrior-

Why not instead of Warrior call it soldier... as a soldier in to days military you get trained to use every type of weapon known to man... unlike commando the soldier would be like the swat called in for highly specialized ops.

While it may not be feasable to do this as described why not make it Garison commander, Star destroyer captain, planetary military commander.

I've been talking about implimenting droids as characters for a long time. as they accumulate exp and become available for exp they get upgrades either combat or crafting.... and as a penalty of dieing you could have a data loss.... the possibilities are limitless.
there are so many unique races that could be added that to think of only one or two would limit the possabilities.
New Titles for combination professions.
Mastering TKA and Swords you would achieve the Samurai title.
Mastering Fencer and Marksman you would achieve the Musketeer title.
Mastering TKA, Brawler, Swords and Scout you would achieve Ninja
I'm not even sure of skill points will allow for some, but that would be really cool titles.
Crime Lord for mastering Merchant and Smuggler would be pretty cool.
CEO for mastering merchant and any elite crafting profession.
Cool ideas...
I definately do love the idea of the miner and crimelord.
On a funnier note... Homeless Bum would be a funny profession. You get xp from people tipping you money and when someone gives you food. If you achieve any monetary gains above x amount of money you get a TEF and get "arrested."
Heh...
ok...just one question....thought this game was called STAR WARS galaxies.....when in the h*ll did ninga's and samuria's or even muskateer's come into the game? Next you'll say Luke Skywalker was ninja...right? come on....make some sense atleast.
was it:
Buggereer
If you dont know what it is to be buggered Im afraid i would get baned for filling you in......
I have no idea but now im way curious to know.
And nerfs are non-aggresive animals, so CHs couldn't train them to attack or anything.
