Don't get me wrong, I love the content, but is anyone else at all upset that...you don't need to be a Smuggler to be in the Smuggler's Alliance? It is like, our group, has been opened up to everyone.

Yes I must admit this is one thing that I do not like about how JTL is run. I think you should at least have to be a novice smuggler to join the smugglers alliance. I mean really there are two other netural organizations peeps could go with, why not keep this one for us.

On the other hand I can see how this might be hard to run without people getting upset. You pick up Novice Smuggler start out in the smuggler's alliance. You drop Novice Smuggler...then what happens? Will the smuggler alliance people not let you train anymore? Do you have to drop all of your pilot skills and start over with one of the other organizations?

Of course this wouldn't be any different then a rebel not being able to be an imperial pilot?? *shrug*

Not really. It's chaff to me.Smugglingshouldn't beabout shootingthe smuggler shooting theirway through a blockade. That should mean that the smuggler screwed up somewhere and is the last resort. And the Smuggler's Alliance missions seem designed to purposely throw a person into slugging it out with a blockade.

A real smuggling mission to me would involve having an ImperialStar Destroyerand a wing of Tie Fightersin orbit around Naboo reducinging every shipwith illegal cargo into dust. And the smuggler getting the cargo onto Naboo anyways using falsified transponders, shipping manifests, hidden compartments, bribes and pure bluffs.

yeah I am sick of people joining the Smugglers alliance because "Rebel is too hard" or "Imperial is too hard"

most people who say that are on tier3 and instead of getting components like they should have, got ships, so teir second tier3 mission is hard

I dont mind it, I am on tier4, I help my guildies do their tier3 missions, and get tons of exp for it

I'm fine with other people in the smuggler's alliance with the following condition (read, wish, hope, dream, desire, pipe-dream, etc.)

A long long time from now on a server far far away SOE releases the long awaited Smuggler Revamp.

Bobbi, Image Designer joined the Smuggler's Alliance because the uniforms the Imperials wear are just not colorful enough and the Rebels. Well, you never know what they will wear.

So, Bobbi has gotten himself a YT-1300, has done many missions prior to the smuggler revamp.

Davies, "So Bobbi, I have something i need to deliver for me."

Bobbi "Sure i can do that, these missions are easy"

Davies "For your sake it better be"

Cut to space, Bobbi get into his YT-1300 gets into space. On his way to the hyperspace wp he gets commed by a Imp destroyer.

"Cargo ship, prepare to be boarded for inspection."

Options pop up on the screen

1. "Fast talk your way out of inspection"

2. "Dump Illegal cargo"

3. "Allow boarding"

Bobbi, presses 1.

Message, "I'm sorry, you must be a Smuggler to use that skill"

Message from Destroyer "Our sensors indicate you have illegal cargo on your ship, prepare to be boarded or destroyed."

Message pops up on the screen.

1. "Fast talk your way out of inspection"

2. "Dump Illegal cargo"

3. "Allow boarding"

Bobbi picks 2.

Message from Destroyer "Our sensors indicate you have dumped illegal cargo in a space lane. This action is punishable by a 20,000 credit fine. Pay the fine and prepare to be boarded or we will be forced to destroy you."

Message pops up on the screen

1. Pay fine

2. Ignore Destroyer

Bobbi, now in a panic picks "Pay fine"

Message from Bank. "We are sorry, we are unable to pay the fine as your employer has frozen your cash assests to be released upon the delivery of the cargo."

Message from Destroyer "As you have dumped cargo in a space lane, refused boarding and have not paid the proper fine, we are forced to destroy you."

As Bobbi's ship blows up, a Smuggler who has been monitoring the communications flys in at the momnet of the explosing gets a message on his screen

1. Retrieve Cargo

2. Retrieve Bobbi

You only have time to retrieve one item

We all know the right choice

Message on screen "You have retrieved 6 components compatible with your ship"

Would love to see this happen

Not as long as the only people who get to actually smuggle stuff (whenever they get around to putting it in the game) are Smugglers (capital s by the way), and don't use it as an excuse to make it a JTL feature for anyone who pursued privateer that way.

Not like we're smuggling with the alliance anyway. They have plenty of needs for hired guns and errand boys.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Actually something im noticing around mos eisley while visiting trainers..more fences, more slicers, more novice smugglers etc

Now could be a combination of several factors, existing smugglers joining the alliance,me noticing more smugglers as im hanging around the smae place more frequently while i work on pilot etc. But i have to say prior to this it would be very rare to come accross a fellow smuggler on my server, would usualy only encounter a fellow crim loitering around at coro or theed spamming slice services, and ive also noticed an uplift in sales on my smuggler vendor

Anyone else noticing an increase in people playing smuggler on their server?

i would be nice if only smugglers could join, but first off, its not really smuggling, and if everyone was a smuggler in it, they would run out of things to smuggle.. how fast can a galaxy possibly snort spice, or destroy their gun before the next shipment

have to admit naritus was down to a handful of master smugglers and lesser smuggler's we're very very rare. I have started seeing more and more but onlt the odd one here and there. I think maybe Smugglers Alliance is making people choose to become a smuggler for the imerssion value while doing there nuetral missions. this is fine and dandy with me since it only helps our profession in the long run.

It was kinda a kick in the pants, and most of us were rather miffed over it, yes. We tried talking with them, but apparently the dev's have this new "tunnel-vision" philosophy of only working on, thinking about, and looking at what's in front of them. Which is going to screw us in the long run.
