Thread: Post 19. Slicing Information Datatables, Walkthroughs, FAQ
Components are now looted. It's discussed lower down in the FAQ.
Slicing is done sequentially from Level 1 to Level 3. You cannot bypass Level 2 to get to Level 3, just like you can't bypass Level 1 for 2. The Numbers represent the customisation/increases at each level, they are independant of each other.
Slicing no longer "breaks" a weapon, this risk was removed by the devs. Thus no recalibrating for us smugglers.
Weapons
Speed: (Apparently cannot slice over weapons speed cap, this should NOT take customisation points or components if you attempt a slice) Check your cap here!
Level 1 | 2% Increase | 20% customisation | No Components
Level 2 | 4% Increase | 45% customisation | Simple Toolkit
Level 3 | 7% Increase | 70% customisation | Finely Crafted Toolset
Level 4 | 12% Increase | 100% customisation | Delicate Trigger Assembly
Damage: (Apparently cannot slice over weapons damage cap, this should NOT take customisation points or components if you attempt a slice) Check your cap here!
Level 1 | 2% Increase | 20% Customisation | No Components
Level 2 | 4% Increase | 40% Customisation | Simple Toolkit
Level 3 | 8% increase | 60% Customisation | Illegal Core Booster
Critical Shot Chance:(Apparently Critical shots are currently not working)
Level 1 | 3% Increase | 20% Customisation | Simple Toolkit
Level 2 | 5% Increase | 60% Customisation | Finely Crafted Toolset
Level 3 | 10% Increase | 100% Customisation | Delicate Trigger Assembly
Armour - Thanks to Inamalcus
The data here was collected by Inamalcus, so I'm assuming the system is similar to weapons, except with Resilience, Impact Deflection, Hardening and Armour Break Resisdence being the options.
Resilience: (Makes the armour keep effectiveness at lower conditions)
Level 1 | Drops after 40% | 25% Customisation | No Components
Level 2 | Drops after 30% | 50% Customisation | Simple Toolkit
Level 3 | Drops after 20% | 75% Customisation | Shock Absorbant Padding
Impact Deflection: (Allows a chance armour isn't damaged when hit)
Level 1 | 20% Armour mitigates damage | 25% Customisation | No Components
Level 2 | 40% Armour mitigates damage | 50% Customisation | Finely Crafted Toolkit
Level 3 | 60% Armour mitigates damage | 75% Customisation | Powered Motivators
Hardening: (Absorbs 50% of damage when hit)
Level 1 | 1% Absorbtion | 15% Customisation | None
Level 2 | 2% Absorbtion | 50% Customisation | Trandoshan Intraframe
Level 3 | 3% Absorbtion |100% Customisation | Mandalorian Intraframe
Armour Break Reduction: (chance to mitigate Armour Break effects)
Level 1 | 25% Armor Break Reduction | 20% | No Components
Level 2 | 50% Armor Break Reduction | 40% | Shock Absorbant Padding
Level 3 | 75% Armor Break Reduction | 60% | Reactive Micro Plating
All Information is the complete information about that level. IE a FWG5 Pistol that has a level 4 slice has 100% customisation, and 12% speed increase.
Mision Terminals
Just select "Slice" on the radial menu and voila.
Master Smuggler | +~50% payment | No Components
Resets to unsliced after REFRESH is pressed.
So far there does not appear to be a bonus given for slicing BH terminals, it may however be so minimal that it's not noticed.
Locked Containers
Select "slice" on the radial menu, no more fussing about with laser knives and modular clamps, now all it needs slicing xp put back inplace of pistols.
Master Smuggler | 5/5 Successful openings | No Components
FAQ
Looting:
Looting appears to be random. There seems to be no certain crits/NPCs that drop the slicing components. Only certain ones are Krayts, and Nightsisters. They frop the level 3 weapon components.
You can convert old AUKs and WUKs into new system looting components. To do this click the AUK/WUK in your inventory, and select the option "salvage" this should convert it to a random new tool (absolutely purely random chance of conversion).
This was fixed recently in a Hotfix. You can now pull AUKs and WUKs from crates and get all of them slavaged.
Laser Knives and Molecular Clamps do not appear to have a salvage option.
WUKs and AUKs have been removed from our friendly WS and AS schematics trees. So you can't have newly created WUKs, and AUKs without looting
Most translate to "Simple Toolkits", with the occasional "Finely Crafted Tool Set" thrown into the mix. Illegal Core Booster, and "Delicate Trigger Assembly Kits" are both extremely rare to have salvaged, I'm gonna guess less than 1/100. For AUKs I converted I got quite a few shock absorbant paddings, as well as 2 trandoshan Interframes. There were only 50 AUKS, so not as many
Salvaging at 80/80 backpack destroys the item you are trying to salvage.
Old Sliced Utilities. As it stands people have been unable to slice weapons that were already sliced pre Publish 19. However there is no longer the line in the examine window that details that the weapon/armour has been sliced already. I would assume this is a bug that is yet to be fixed.
That should be everything that you'll need to know about the new slicing system, if you have any questions please post them here, and I'll try to get answers for you.
I will do my best to make updates when it is necessary, unless of course it gets lost on page 58 and it isn't stickified
Disclaimer: The following are only possibilites for slices, I am not trying to force you to do either of these. Just give you more information

Edit: At least it looks like GM did increase the slice values as he promised.

Hi Arp, I cut and pasted this from another thread on here. Looks like you can mix and match a bit, but not max more than one stat.

NO, those stats are all wrong now. There were changes after that.
Resilience2| 50% | Simple Toolkit | Effectiveness drop at 30%
Resilience3| 75% | Shock Absorbant Padding | Effectiveness drop at 20%
Impact Deflection2|50% | Finely Crafted Toolkit | 40% Chance armor not damaged
Impact Deflection3| | |
Hardening2| 50%| Trandoshan Intraframe| 2% Crit Chance
Hardening3| 100% | Mandalorian Intraframe | 3% Crit Chance
Armor Break Red2| 40%| Shock Absorbent Padding| 50% Armor Break Redution
Armor Break Red3|60% |Reactive Micro Plating | 75% Armor Break Reduction
NOTE: I'm having trouble with this last part, I'm out of Finely Crafted Toolkits and I can't see the stats on Impact Deflection 3. If anybody finds them, please let me know. Once I get that last peice of data I'll make this ... prettier.
