Thread: if i have the smuggler class, am i not a smuggler?

they say just the jedi/bh wanted feign to change but im quite happy with the change. true i am also a mbh 
and i realise theirony there but i am also still a smuggler. i love using pistols and lowblow i would say is a must, and last ditch is just nice to add. anyway, i call myself a smuggler and i thought feign shouldnt be in pvp. now will i drop smuggler all of a sudden? nope. do i now like the class less? nope.

how many of us are happy with this change?

Well, call me a heartless jerk, but I personally believe that unless someone is either a Master Smuggler, or going to be a Master, they aren't really a Smuggler, they're just a dabbler. I have BH Pistols IV, but I'm not a bounty hunter. I just dabble in their Pistol line to get some speed, accuracy, and a Scatter Pistol.
But hey... it's just my opinion.

I have slicing 4.
I am not a smuggler. I am a slicer. I don't really miss that extra 5%.
All this obsession with are you a (insert profession here)/are you not a(insert profession here)is causing waaaay more drama than it's worth.

Well you can still bea smuggler, but not a Smuggler. 
If you get that one, then you may qualify a bit more.

It's about pride.
I am proud to carry the Smuggler tag, and I'm 100% committed to being a Smuggler.
People who dabble, it seems to me, do so to get the best out of their toons, because that'sall they are - toons, with templates and skills and mods. My character is just that - a character, rather than a toon. He's not about me getting Fencer defences, or Eyeshot or whatever. He's a Smuggler, and I'm damned proud of him.

No sorry taking up the pistol line of smuggler just so you can use low blow and last ditch with your scatter pistol does not make you a smuggler. Just like taking up the pistol line of bh to get eye shot does not make me a bounty hunter, or taking up the meditation line in TK does not make me a TK. In my view you have to have at lest 1 defining tree of the profession and 1 other tree in the profession in order to be considered that profession. So in my opinion if you want to be considered a smuggler you would have to have the dirty fighting line and another profession defining line like slicing. Slicing of course being a defining aspect of being a smuggler. For someone to be considered a bounty hunter they of course need the BH defining investigation tree plus one other.

well for me it really depends...
When it comes to any skill in the smuggler tree you may or not be a smuggler, got underworld all wrapped up? i may think your a smuggler, are you a rogue.... maybe you have an applitude towards smuggler but your not a true smuggler.
i cant stand people who only niavely see in black and white, there are degree's of being a smuggler like there are shades of white and black and the important between groups

Hey now - I droppedmy mastery in theprofession because I was no longer having fun in the game. I got sick of the whining people who blamed me for "bad" slices, I got sick of one entire tree being useless to me because (at that time) I was unfactioned. I got disgusted when spices took a big hit from the chef revamp and the deathblow from the unannounced and unexplaineddowner change. I was there when we lost the battle of the crackdown, and when we lost panic shot off of our useful specials list. I remember then they claimed they "fixed" Feign Death the FIRST time.
I may not have the master title, tumbleweed, but I am a smuggler where it counts. Its howI define myself.
And the really sad part is, with all the skill boxes in smuggler I dropped, I don't see any real change in my gameplay, smugglerwise. I still don't sell spices, and I still don't sell faction, and I still don't slice. So basically all I did was reallocate skill points into a useful venue until such time that the profession is revamped. There is no point in being miserable and paying for the honor.
Its not about the master title, man. That's only text. Its that whole brotherhood thing.
