When we looked at slicer, it boiled down pretty much to "can pick locks." Most other abilities suggested were either griefy (can read other people’s email!) or depended on content. So we have a rule around here these days: a profession that relies SOLELY on static content shouldn’t be in the game. Frankly, we’re bending that rule now for bounty hunters and to a degree for smugglers, but they’re so iconic that we cannot see doing without them.
The basic ability of slicing locks and the like was rolled into other professions as abilities, rather than being a role of its own.

So... um... why is our main feature slicing? To the point where we could change our name to slicer?

Well, we do make drugs and perform a very necessary combat role.
Smuggler would kick so much ass if we actually got a good smuggling system though.

I read through apresentation he gave years ago at a developers convention. It was appalling how he described ways of manipulating the players. I see no difference in what we're experiencing today.

I read the same thing. It seems they are still living by his "Cold War" techniques.
I think it would be alot better to be more open, but hey!

I was so excited when I started reading about SWG I completely forgot how much I hated his philosophies.
This time I won't forget and never buy a game he's involved with.

Any links perhaps? I'd very much like to see what's being talked about here.
