Strakes need to be more than just for show, make them an extra weapon mount or something.

Need some new schematics that we can actually build, and not just rehashed old garbage that has been given amazing mass... how about another run of POB ships? I still get people begging me for the Lambda Shuttle. Yes it'd be nice to be able to craft the new ships too, I'd love to see some kind of long drawn out quest for master shipwrights to earn the schematics much like the RIS armor quest.

Space mining is very tedious and slow.

Dire hatred of thetexture kits...

Haven't gotten the Y-8 yet but heard it needs some serious work.

Need more storage space for yetmore materials... can you beg for the structure lot limitsto get upped to 15? *grovel*

Greetings Shipwrights, Here I am looking for what you don't like about ROTW. Please give your input on both what you don't like and how it could be changed to make it better. Thanks! P.S. If you've posted in the first Shipwright Issues - Post ROTW thread, I've still got your input. =)

So far we have:

Some shipwrights are very worried that chassis given out as quest rewards signals a move undermine the player focused economy.

Thunderheart has responded to this issue with the following :

"As far as the new ships earnedon the RoWquests? They will remain that way. Looking to the future, players will get more items to craft and there will also be more quest/loot items - - it isn't going to be all one or all the other."

Later in the same thread Thunderheart said the following:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thunderheart wrote:

Crafters craft the vast majority of player used equipment in the game. Crafted items will always have a high value and so will some loot. Some crafted items will be better and some loot items will be better. Its never going to be an "either/or" situation. Sometimes great items will be craftable, sometimes they will be schematics and sometime they will be quest rewards.

I think the important thing to underscore is that the great RoW items are quest-loot, not loot drops. It important to have quest rewards that are satisfying and RoW is a very quest oriented expansion.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, to me it sounds like there will be a delicate balance between quest/loot items and crafted items in the future. They have our suggestions on this so let's hope for the best and move forward. However, if you'd still like to express ideas on this matter feel free, let's keep it constructive please An alternative to the chassis given as quest rewards could be:

  • A quest made with shipwrights specific content could grant the skill to make the chassis from that point on.

  • A limited use schematic that would allow for 1 -5 chassis.

Many shipwrights would have prefered the paint/texture kits become all purpose rather than continue to grow in number.

  • All purpose paint and and all purpose texturekit : Made with asteroid resources and ground resources, these kits allow you to apply any known paint/texture scheme. This could be expanded further to allow the number of designs in the kit to increase with skill level. Perhaps all kits have the same number but master kit as two special ones.

  • Current paint kits go away andshipwrights are granted the ability to paint other player's ships similar tothe way ID works.

Schematics that require asteroid resources are calling for UT as a stat, yet the asteroid materials seem to only have OQ and no UT. Without UT on the asteroids resources, quality is suffering greatly. (this is known issue, no details yet, but they are working to resolve this)

that and the dificulty in using the Y8 to actualy mine the new resources

- That the winglets and strakes are for show only.

- That the reward ships are deeds rather than schematics.

- That the reward ships can be farmed by running the quests over and over.

  • The new, most saught after Spacecraft are gift deeds.
  • Space mining is slow, and very, very buggy.
  • The new chassis are superior in every way to the old ships, rendering them obsolete. This is now the second time I've had a vendor full of blueprints I couln't sell.
  • The viability of the Y-8 as a practical craft.
  • More Texture Kits?!
  • The new, most saught after Spacecraft are gift deeds.
  • The new, most saught after Spacecraft are gift deeds.
    and...
  • The new, most saught after Spacecraft are gift deeds.

Is this really true? I thought the new quests could only be done once.

Have to say they should have been a schematic. It's easier to get a new space ship then an AV-21 Landspeeder which is a schematic.

What I don't like----

(1) no permanent schematics for the new ships-"we didn't have time to code it " is the poorest business excuse you can have for a game like. Solution: Don't release bugged material into the game just to meet a deadline. It will make in the end make your customers happy.

(2) very very slow asteroid mining-we need static harvesters

(3) travel option not available to Kashyyyk from other Starports without Space Travel-most people in the game have already mastered their respective Pilot profession. To me this is very annoying. One of the things I looked forward to the most from JTL was this travel option. I've gotten used to being able to hop around the galaxy in about 20 min checking resources!!

(4) Asteroids appear to be a poorly thought out idea. They have only one statistic. Whoever designed it just made 80 percent of the resources1000 OQ as a time saver it appears. All of the new Elite components require UT to be taken into consideration to make them any good, so using the Asteroids as they are with OQ only makes the components worthless IMO. We need information about the future of these resources. Are the stats ever going to change or will they always be just OQ and just OQ 1000? Right now on Kettemoorof the 13 different Asteroids, Petrochem, Iron, Diamond, and Methane are the only 4 that have OQ 500. Petrochem and Iron just happen to be the 2 that are used in the new High Mass chasis. Is this intentional for balance reasons? I was able to max out mass on the new ships at 89 percent (96,587 mass).

Any word as to what other items these resources are going to be used in? If the Devs have any PLANS I'm sure most Shipwrights would LOVE to hear them.

(5) I've heard from several other Shipwrights that the Y-8 is very poorly designed. Haven't flown it myself.

1. New ships not being a limited use schem.

2. Y-8 is useless for mining.

3. The paint kit / texture kit issue of course

4. QUEST REWARD SHIP COMPONENTS!!!!

The issues you have already mentioned really, on top of:

Small cargo holds for space resources.

The bugged mining ship.

The mining ship should be able to be used by one person if desired.

More texture kits, I think they should just be generic and allow all styles.

Gathering of space resources is rather slow and boring, even with two mine lasers and a tractor beam.

It would be nice if there could be a mining beam that could harvest directly from the big asteriod to the cargo hold for those with level 8 certifaction and above, the beam of course drains capictor energy pretty quickly and it should allow the pilot to use what shelid energy they hav, and drainthemto keep the beam going longer, and to also add a further element of risk if bandits appear.

Ok im not a shipwriht

but i do agree that they should have someway of making the new ships in ROW

Having managed to finnaly get the Advanced X-wing as a quest reward i find myself wondering wether or not i want to risk loosing it

started off with 2k chasis and was blown away when trying to help someone else finish their advanced ship quest....repaired the ship and lost 200 chasis points

so at that rate ill only be able to repair the ship 10 times before i have no chasis points left

So there is a need for shipwrights to be able to craft them.

Even if it entails the pilots to do a renewable quest or spend faction points for a scematic

crafters need to be kept in this as there is a large number of the playerbase that likes to craft.

and from what i can see the quests for the ships are a one time only quest.....
