I do not like these new buffs. I know it varies from server to server but is impossible to find an non-AFK muscian on Tarq. I have been looking for days. Coronet Cantina and the Theed Cantina's have been empty for weeks. I used to be able to get the old buff in Dant Mining Outpost from an AFK Entertainer that was there to buff combat levelers. I have done a find on Musician 4 times in2 days on every planet and never found one. So, basically, I am screwed. I not only do not the the 2% resource buff but lost the old 10% experimentation buff.

Give it some time. AFK'ers are evil and now you can expect some folks to start sitting at their screens again.

You can't expect it to happen over night though.

There used to be 2 or 3 cantina's in the galaxy that you could always find ATK entertainers. I was one of them. Then came the grind/buff-bots and ATK entertainers either died or were lost among the crowds of zombies. As the entertainers start realizing their new value, you'll see more and more. Since the update I've been to Theed 3 times and found a musician each time.

Hang in there, it will get better.

I am truly sorry that you are having trouble but I also see this as poetic justice (not directing this at the first poster).

It was only a matter of time before the community suffers as a whole because a group of professions has been stomped on for so long.

Its the buffbots, the afkers, and the months of having no purpose that have hurt the atk entertainer population.

Its also the attitude of other players to the atk entertainers.

Until them I am screwed out of my 10% but combat characters can still get 10% from AFK bots? This is fair how? I think they killed off entertainers and are seriously working on crafters. Tell the Dev's to either allow crafters to get the old 10% from afk bots or eliminate the ability of AFK bots to buff anyone. That would be fair. No, I am not calling for a nerf, but if they did this it would be backed off in a day like the last time they fooled with combat characters. They are driving this game towards combat only. They are already giving away some of the best ships in the game. Now this.

So all these NEW buffs to make our crafting abilities better than ever before is driving away crafters?

The totally redone entertainer buff systemthat gives them a suddenhuge demandis driving away entertainers?

It is a big change, and I'm sure they are watching to see if entertainers will start coming out again to meet this demand. I can see your point about no longer being able to get the 10% from afk'ers. Still I'm my opinion, we should never EVER have been able to get anybenefit from afk entertainers. I'm glad to see this moving in the ATK direction and hope eventually this will include every buff you can get from an entertainer.

Making it so that SW needs 3 or 4 different types of CA's that need to bought from combat characters is helping crafters? Allowing AFK bots to buff combat characters is fair and helping crafters. This is not helping crafters on servers that no longer have Entertainers because they lost the 10% experimentation. Not to mention that NPC chassis dealers buy parts, or the free Uber ships that are better than crafted, or loot that can be used by low level pilots without re, or giving away a fully equipped ship to Novices, or almost no factory support, or.... I can go on and on. You obviously play a heavily populated server. I have 20 hours of crafting over the lastfour days and I can not keep a vendor stocked. I have customers that rely on me or I would just quit at this point and I have been playing since release.

All I want is either to be able to get the old buff from an AFK entertainer for the 10% experimentation. Or give the same rules to combat characters and eliminate the dreaded AFK entertainers entirely. You probably have seen me post before. I am not usually a complainer but I have spent 2 hours of my game time, placed an add in my trade forum offering to pay 50k per buff, all with zero results. My son, a combat character, zips to dant and two minutes later has the full benefits of a buff for free if he chose not to tip. I tip even AFK bots 5k.

I've seen you post before and like I said I can understand the issue you are facing. I just think that swg is trying really hard to improve things for crafters and other non-combat types. Maybe we are only seeing the beginning? We'll see.

I've started typing responses to your first paragraph 3 times so far and have decided that I don't want to argue over this. Suffice it to say I understand where you are coming from, but I have a very different outlook on the situation.

From the master musician directory for Tarq on the musician forum I found these two names. Maybe it will help.

Well, I got my first "new" buff. Seems a fellow crafter saw my message in the trade forum and sent me a tell. He respected his alt to Novice just to buff himself. I helped a number of member of his guild and he felt he should return the favor. The good news is my old buffed 103.1 engines are now 103,5 with a similar increase in the other stats. My unbuffed ones are around 102.8. Yep, not going to travel to the middle of nowhere on this one to wait for a novice to buff me and keep watch over my head and decide that I have not seen a + 10 minutes float over my head for a while. Sorry, but on this server, this is not working. I spent a total of around 4 hours just to get the buff. I can now get one in under an hour because I send send my new friend a tell and travel half way across the galaxy, wait, then travel back.

Words to the wise, if you're a shipwright befriend an entertainer if you have not done so already. Tip them well for their service (or give them free parts if they need it) and they will be happy to help during times you can't find anyone in the cantinas. My shipwright is engaged to an entertainer, soI guess I'm luckier than most.
