Thread: Publish 24 Schematics and other SW changes

Hi all. TC got it back (at last) so here it is.


The key stats are based off of the testing I did previously as I haven't had time to remake everything, but I have checked schematics to these.


BE AWARE....This is on TC and maychange before it goes live.


I'll add in to this post the other patch notes once Tiggs posts them. but from memory the key SW changes were:


  • Fixed reactor drain bonus when RE'ing (and confirmed, that is working)

  • Added 2 turrets to Y-8

  • FixedCaptain Kohmission to escort Y-8 convoy (enables people to get new Y-8s!)

  • Fixed /move up/down in Y-8

  • Adjusted POBschematics (see below for revised schems)

  • Increased asteroid mined per chunk to40 units for pieces gathered with the tractor beam and 20 units for destroyed pieces.

Currently TC is rather more unstable than it was when they pulled publish 24 off the server for being unstable so it may take time to get testing up to speed (for one thing whenever I launch to space I get warped to eisley!)


If we get any more changes I will try to keep this updated and when I have time I will remake stuff. Anyone who wants to help I will pay 10cpu for any asteroid mined and put on a Red-Dwarf vendor in the New Unity droid tent, I recommend using the flash harrison quest for initial mining kit.

Key stats: 1.9k min damage 2.1k max damage 0.48 vs Shields/Armour 0.37 refire (can't remember how I experimented that)

Starfighter class/Small/Medium/Large

Key stat: I have a large Y-8 hold at 46,075 capacity but can't remember the % that was.


Elite Components:


As far as I can see therequired resource stats are the same as the normal components EXCEPT you cannot experiment on mass on any elite component. The mass is 250k on each unless you use a mass altering upgrade (all Elites can take a Mk5 Upgrade)

Key stats: Armour HP 7.7k front/back


Booster:

Capacitor (Elite one detailed here, Y-8 hasn't been changed and is therefore junk so not detailed):

Null Bolt Blaster

Key stats: 3.2k min damage 5.4k max damage 0.54 vs Shields/Armour 0.26 refire (w Mk5 Quick shot upgrade)


Resources for the Railgun are the same as the null bolt(stats same except it is more vs armour/less vs shields)

For Gauss cannon swap Organometallic for Methane and swap the vs shields/armour numbers compared to the railgun.

Any comments on the changes make them here or if IIscandar opens up another thread put them there. Keep it clean so that we can hopefully have DP take a look for any final balance adjustments.

  • Have you seen any issues with them? (yeah, definately need to have been on TC to answer that)

  • With these changes are you likely to use your POB ship more in PvE combat?

  • With these changes are you likely to use your POB ship more in PvP combat?

  • If the answer to either of the last two is no - Why not?

I am very pleased to see the increase in stats on the components, and the decrease in resource cost. I feel that two of the most discouraging aspects of asteroid resources have been fixed. Not only will demand for the high end POB parts increase, the supply of resources to make them should also increase. It is quite possible that with both of those factors this impending changewill pleasepilots and shipwrights. I can't wait to try out a ship with a full loadout of these.

Absolutely. I'm already up there in my YT as much as possible. I have a good feeling that these changes will allow me to get a little closer with cap ships.

These changes can do nothing but help PVP. With the boost to offensive and defensive systems, it is quite likely (in my opinion), that POB ships will gain enough survival time to blast attacking fighters from the skies with the now even more powerfull cannons.

If the answer to either of the last two is no - Why not?

Testing will determine which way this one goes. I encourage everyone possible to do your best to spend time on the test center working with other pilots to test this. The more working together to make this happen the better the final result will be.

Thanks a bunch for this, Red Dwarf. About the Elite Capacitor and Reactor. Are they 'junk' because since there's a Y-8 version of both they're redundant?

The Y-8 ones are the junk ones.


This is because the Elite ones take less resources and have better stats (by almost double)

Rah!! You're a star Red-Dwarf


IMO those POB weapons just don't fire fast enough stuff the extreme damage, want Gatlin-Lasers Realistically; I'd really like to see them down to 0.200 with quickshot upgrade. Ideally I'd like them to be 0.100

Old Y-8's get the extra turrets and the working up/down.


The reference to "new Y-8s" is to the fact you can now complete the quest and get a new deed.

Gotcha, but... new turrets? excellent, was a big blind-spot on the last model. Are there any pictures of the new Y-8 up?
