Thread: Shipwright Price Lists

I am a new shipwright trying to make up pricing schemes.

Right now I have my chasis prices set and I think they will work at 10/20/30/80/144/500 (Once I get rid of my grinding stock on the Tier 1-3 I'm going to raise the price a little)

I was wondering if shipwrights on here could post their prices and how they price based on quality of components and stuff, include reference to optional additions also.

What do you usually experiment on for NON-custom components?

How much do you sell Asteroid resource components for? and how do you entice pilots to sell theirs?

All advice and information will be highly appreciated.

I only make master level ships. I use the cheapest resources I can find and experiment on mass 1stfor the non-pob ships and experiment of HP 1st for the pob ships.

I sell them for 450k (3 CPU) and I don't spend more than 1.5 CPU for the resources.

I also sell asteroid resource components and chassis and sell them for around 100CPU of asteroid resource.

Each server is different as well as the quality of items. If you find a shipwright making the best of the best components, the price will reflect it.

There are cheeze-out hacks like me who are just well-known who can charge astronomic prices too.

It's all gone. And so am I.

I agree.

For Components, I base my prices off what the price of the resources I used was, plus a small amount for skill and time. So as an example: if the resources' market price is 10cpu, I sell the finished product for 12cpu. If the price seems too high, or low, compaired to what others are asking for their quality product, I will adjust; but the above is my base guideline. It's all about the resources used.

I'm just starting out, so to try to build up a customer base I'm charging 5 cpu for all resources, spare asteroids which I price at 50cpu.

Mark II: 3750

Mark III: 7500

Mark IV: 20k

Mark V: 37.5k

Decent quality for a nice low price to try to generate some business.

I don't sell chassis, as the profit margins are way too low and I could make more from selling the resources.

Components I sell at 10K per level, and never usually bother with mark 1, and stock few mark 3 and few mark 5. Everything except my booster includes a subcomponent of appropriate level

so:

Mark 1: 10K
Mark 2: 30K
Mark 3: 50K
Mark 4: 70K
Mark 5: 90K

Reactors: Overcharger subcomponent, and fully experimented on all parts for generation.

Capacitors: Heavy battery subs, and all parts experimented for maximum stored energy. Extra points usaully go into recharge. With WO3 running, this is fine, though once WO3 is fixed, I suspect recharge will be important again.

Engines: I will stock some speed experimented with extra points in PYR, some PYR Experimented (5 points in each) with 2 points in speed (I have +2). All Engines inlude Overdriver components.

Boosters: My only components to NOT include a subcomponent. I aim for 10sec drain, 20sec recharge (check the clickies to see how to make a good 10sec booster)

Weapons: All include quickshot components and are experimented for speed, with extra points put into max damage. MY Level 7 (Mark IV) Quickshots are my best selling components, with my level 5 and 9 fighting for 2nd and 3rd best selling components.

DI's: Droid brain upgrades and fully experimented on all parts for droid speed.

Shields: Intensifier upgrades and all parts experiemnted fully for front and back hitpoints (5 points in each on sub and final unit)

Armour: I rarely bother with armour, though try to keep 4 of each level in stock. Very rarely sells. Reinforcement subcomponents, all experimentation is in Armour stat.

I also stock Flight computers up to LVL5 (I have 0004 DE), though am not sure on the price.

My best selling product is my highest profit margin item: Droid chips. I sell these in crates of 5 for 10K (2K per chip is 33cpu), but also sell pre-programmed. These are HUGE sellers. I have Imp and Privateer Aces and sell the popular programs (WO, EO, RO, CO, CTSS) L3 for 12K (200cpu) and L4 for 15K (250cpu). Considering these use grind resources they are a great earner

I then sell texture kits at 2.5K each and paint kits at 15K per crate of 5.

Asteroid components seem to be a bit of a swizz to me... We buy resources to make mining kit... then we make mining components... eventually, the market will hit saturation and will die so I am not being caught out

The only other things they are used for are:
* BARC repair kits (BARCS are bugged and can be repaired at a garage even when disabled)
* texture kits (pffft... what a waste)
* POB Components (let's make POB ships worth using first)
* Y-8 Components (let's make the Y-8 work first)
* High Mass ships (pretty much special order items that people may well pay for, but will usually only ever need 1 in their career)

MOst common question asked: How should I equip my JSF
Answer: If you have a starmap engine, use that. If not, get a L7 Engine, and use it with a L7 Shield, 2X L7 Quickshot blasters and a L3 Capacitor and L3 Reactor. Slap in a L5 DI with a v4 Flight computer (15Kcr or so) and run Reactor Overload 3 (Run this first) then Engine OL3, Weapon OL3 and Capacitor OL3. Have CTSS3 on your toolbar to fix your shields when you need em. Armour? Forget it... you no longer need it. STick in the best booster you can though, and don;t forget your chaff launcher

Now... if they take your advise (and they usually), they spend a minimum of 470K on components... 540K if they have not done starmap quest... 570K with a L3 booster... Then they buy up to 60K worth of droid chips, probably spend an additional 60K on a chaff launcher, a crate of chaffs and will often buy one of each texture kit and a crate of paint kits... and they will be very happy with the kit they purchased!

Sigh...i'm charging 250K for a Mark V engine (it's in a searchable vendor). The reason i'm charging so high is so that people can see it. The darn thing sells with in 3 days..... If they look in the vendor just beside it (not a searchable vendor) the same exact engine is going for 150K. I really don't get why people are still buying the more expensive engine.....

I charge 10k per tier on crafted components, but right now i dontuse upgrade parts in anything.

By far my biggest seller is Re'd loot. If you are in a guild that is helpful, ask your guildmates to drop loot off on a vendor for you.

for RE'd loot i tend to charge: component level x 2 x 1000 so a level 5 RE job sells for 25k

i find my crafted stuff doesn't sell very well but i am still learning hwo to do it well. Right nwo REing is makign me a tidy profit.
