Thread: Gathering Issue/Bug Information
- Crafted components having names truncated
- Crafter Identification being removed
- No "Ships" category for merchants
- Armor Reinf Mk2 panels not showing up in factory (Fixed)
- Armor Hitpoints HUD Display
- Shipwright trainer waypoints incorrect (confirmed?)
- Droid Interface: speed rating (delay)goes up with tiers
- Engine stats being (at least visually) changed upon unloading
- RE: Tool with 1 charge left
- can destroy items
- can just expel items
- can make an item but not let you name it
- Cert levels not displayed on countermeasures
- Bugs with deed generation (random, working on reproduction steps) and redeeding
- Texture kits broken on Black Sun ships

- Crafted components inferior to looted components (y/n? I found them to be very inferior in beta).
- Increased Factory Support (please don't go in to why, just agree or disagree with this one)

Here are some bugs/issues I didn't see in your list:
- Pilots need to be able to see the decay of their ship.
- Need to be able to see more information when examining a blueprint--for example, how many players the ship will hold, what "slots" the ship supports (e.g., weapons, ordance, droid/computer).
- It would be desirable if a player could see a picture or rendering of a ship when examining blueprints. This would be especailly helpful for players perusing ships with more than one style before making a final decision regarding a purchase.
- Experimentation doesn't have tremendous impact on the final product--when compared to other crafting, such as armor, weapons, and medicines.
- Quality of resources going into a chassis makes very little difference.
- Percentage bonus applied by reverse engineering process should go up with experience. A master should be able to really do something observable here; the petty 1-3% they give us is worthless.
- This might be intentional, but Mark IV and V components are relatively heavy, and experimenting on mass does very little good. Are these leve of components intended for bigger ships? For example, there is no way a pilot will ever be able to equip an A-wing with a full set of Mark IV components--they're just too heavy.

Styxx66 First of all I want to say good job so far even if there is no personal post. There is PLENTY of time for that anyhow. Here are my suggestions and notations on your post as well.

Now I know there has been tons of talk about looted parts over crafted parts and I am here to add a few more of my thoughts as well. I feel that if we have a schematic to make something that NOONE gives a crap about due to its pitifulness (engines), then something is wrong. So I think that something needs to be done on looted stuff and the stats on them be lowered. Now however I know that there are few and I mean few Shipwrights out there that including myself can usually get close to if not higher than SOME looted stuff but for most there is no way they have the stuff to do this. I am not even master yet, but I take pride in what I build and time as well. I enjoy making ships but I recall a statement awhile back by the Dev's stating that NO LOOTED STUFF WILL BE BETTER THAN ANYTHING THAT CAN BE CRAFTED. However we are the first profession that has been denied this factor. I think looted stuff should be good, if it is to improve an existing crafted part, but for pilots the XP is so EASY to get anyhow, that noone really will buy much after they get there master ship, and why b/c they can get better looted stuff or just as good for FREE so why PAY anyone for this. Plus you may say well there stuff will decay, ok my reply to that is thats true, but by the time that happens they probably found a ton more to replace it. I myself have yet to get to be in space trying to learn all the tricks being a shipwright however my friends that are in space loot stuff left and right and show it to me and sometimes give to me as well. They are also the ones that tell me how easy XP is if you know what you are doing and have the righ stuff.
So If I had to take a few from the list above and label them 1-5 I personally would list like this:
- Crafted vs Loot
- Crafter Identification being removed
- No Category On the Overhead Map for ships
- Subcomponents not scaling properly with new mass values
- More data from schematics (ship characteristics)
I hope to contribute more data later on and help this profession any way I possibly can in the future. Again thanks for the great job so early on styxx you are the pioneer for our profession!
