On Scylla, the prices on ship designs and components are all over the place. I just saved??? 400k on a Rihkxyrk, style 1.
Obviously you guys are gouging the heck out us pilots. Have you played as a pilot? The moneys not there for your profiteering.
How much does it actually take to make one of these ships? I respect a mans effort and a fair profit for his wares but wow.

actually you got a decent priced ship. 5cpu (x 80k resources), which is what i sell mine for, is barely making a profit considering that resource suppliers have jacked their prices on just about every SW resource.Even if they were mining their own resources 5 cpu is earnest compensation for our efforts. Here's a little excercise for you - go and buy the resources it takes to build a ship and tell me how much you spend, as well as how long it takes.

I play a pilot. I make 100K a night just killing randome stuff, not counting the loot I pick up-- providing I'm cranking at it.
I'm Also a Shipwright, on a server where charging 10cpu for Chassis is getting closer and closer to breaking even, because the resource sellers have decided we have to pay through the nose for them. I also, don't need the money all that badly, so if people have a problem with my prices, which are reasonable for the markets involved, they can find someone else. i'm not playing shipwright to go broke. Neither am i playing it to gouge players out of money. If you think 600K is too much for an X-Wing or 1.5 million is too much for a Master ship... go be a shipwright and find out why we price the way we do.

just for utter grind quality try finding96k of resources for a tier4 ship and dont forget that the the steel comes in like 2 lots of 32k and 16k each and then 8k lots of all the other resources. so its not like you can pick up a brick of 2k of this that and the other. it all has to be the same run of resources.
now the going rate for GRIND quality was 2-3 cpu. nothing is selling for that now since the demand for shipwright materials is WAY up. so finding a tier 4 ship at 5cpu is a deal. the ammount of time it takes to coolect that much resources isnt even being figured in very well.
your talking about buying something that takes up more resources than a PA hall. i think the ship prices are way low considering that the economy is going to be very stretched once the first round of ships is decayed and people are looking to replace em. demand for shipping will drive the prices higher as more people level into the top tiers and the resources are expended on ship hulls.
its a good time to be a miner.

I try to stay around the 2-5 cpu range when possible since people are still undercutting prices just to get rid of them which makes no sense because they're actually losing allot of money spent on the resources.
I normally charge 50k per ship level, so an A-wing or Tie advanced would run ya about 250k depending on the mass and resources used. I'm still looking for a decent way to price the components such as missiles, especially since they take the special radioactive. I'm considering raising prices on those since my stock of that stuff is limited and the spawn on our server was pretty good stuff.
Business has been good so far and I have a good location which always helps, just outside the Imperial outpost on Dantooine.

First off, if you expected to be able to finance your ship and component buying through what you make in space, I can't say anything but sorry you got fooled.
Second, the resources go:
- Novice - 5k
- Tier 1 - 15k
- Tier 2 - 30k
- Tier 3 - 60k
- Tier 5 - 80k
- Master - 150k
I sell my chassis at 5.5 cpu, you do the math.

Depends, higher cpu resources = higher price. Imperials, Neutrals, and the Rebel A-Wing need the best to fit the nicer gear in. Every A-Wing I've made tops 65.3k without blinking, which is enough for (all upgrades applied to crafted subcomponents where available) a good mark I reactor, mark 4 blaster, mark 4 shields, mark 3 armor, mark 2 booster, lvl 2 re droid interface, lvl 3/4 re capacitor, micro chaff, mark 2 protons, and a 92.2 engine!
Stuff that into a crappy chassis as I've got the points of weapons and shields into damage / protection, overcharged the reactor, et al. Can't do it because I've got 2 mass left on average! (Well the range is between 1-80~ish) so 65321 out 65398 is about the most I have left over
And those other people thought experimentation on chassis w/ good resources wouldn't matter

If I could sell my resources for 3cpu easily, I will charge at LEAST 3cpu then for the price of the ship. If I could sell my resources for 10cpu, why even bother making the ship then?
I would say most SW's are pilots too. Some got it just to work on there own ships I'm sure. The only gouging going on is from what people are selling resources for and the people that agree to buy it at those prices.

Im also on scyllia, EvEnTHoRIzon Ship Dealer sells an A-wing (or any tier 4 ship) for 1.5 MILLION!!!! while one a quick bike ride north charges 500k for the same thing. Call us crazy but most DE's dont go off CPU for pricing. Many on Scyllia (if you find any) charge what they and other DE's think is "fair"

If you'd look on the trade forums(Scylla) you'd see I made an attempt to stabilize things.
As of now I charge 3CPU for all chasis, howeverweapons.. armor.. thats a different story. I'm using amazing resources... carb ore 999 OQ(other stats are badass as well), lub oil 998 OQ, etc. and I'm not selling products made with resources for anything under 10cpu.. and if some people aren't willing to pay it, thats fine because I can stock 50 items on my vendor and have it sell out by the next day.... prices will be all over for a little, its all about supply demand and its always going to be.. just look around and have some patience.. thats all I can say

On Sunrunner, I sell chassis for 5 cpu. I have seen some selling for less, but I stay put. I have no need to sell mine the fastest. My stuff is good quality. People will come for it because I have a fully stocked shop. Some yahoo even started selling ALL chassis for 5k each...so I bought him out, and stocked my vendor.
For components I charge 15cpu on everything. I have heard little criticism on this pricing. It gets pricy for high-end enhanced components, but I tailor it to the buyers needs as much as possible, so again very few complaints.

On my server I sell for 10 cpu for chassis and 20 cpu for components , i have alot of customers many new ones which I either have to tell them I cant help atm or they would have to wait for 1 on 1 building. I do alot of my building with the customer telling them about the parts asking them what they want in system and they like the personal touch so many will not bat eye at the prices.
