Balancing

against reverse engineering is a very difficult process, because you
guys come up with some killer RE combinations that are very hard to see
coming on my end. That,
and looking at the data again, there are some low level capacitors with
very high stats that throw the whole process off.
It does look like recharge rates in particular are still too low, so
I'll make another pass on the numbers and see what I come up with.
Thanks for the continued feedback.

In order for crafted capacitors to compete, it would have to be possible to craft one with a recharge rate >= 50 while still being able to store more than 1K of energy.
nah not really, and this comes from a well seasoned pilot, for a snub fighter like an xwing or so all I need is a capacitor with around 1k energy and recharge around 40-41. If I run capacitor overload 3 with this, its enough to sustain me quite well. That level 2 capacitor with 900 energy is acutally enough to use in an Awing without an RE using the reward level 8 weapon that has a energy per shot of 14.1 (re'd down to 12.7) I never drain my capacitor w/ overload 3 running and the capacitor just serves as a storage bin for the shield shunt 4 command to reboost my shields.

Darth, think about making 55ish recharges at out highest level and working down from there a bit.
50-55 rechargeis an exceptional RE job or should be the range of a cert 9 capacitor made with 950+ stat resources.
I can run my Krayt with two cert9, a cert8 and a cert7 gun on a 42 recharge with cap overload 3 and rarely run out of energy.
I like how Darth is handling this tho, slowly tweaking the numbers up rather than jumping....

Don't forget to check into the missing UT stat on asteroid resources Darth - try making a Mining Laser, Cargo Hold or Tractor Beam.

Hey DP, after crafting a few of the new capacitors and comparing them to a few of my older RE'd loot capacitors, I think a minimum increase of 30% to the crafted capacitors is in order....that would put a Mark 4 capacitor at @ 900 energy storage and 48 recharge rate, depending on what you experiment.I think these numbers would put things much more inline with looted components.

There's at least one RE'd level 10 capacitor on Eclipse with a recharge rate of 56. N'Varra Wren has it in her YT-1300. That's the best one I know about. The capactor in my YT-1300 is a RE'd level 10 with a recharge rate of 52.
You might want to start with a recharge rate of 60 for the new Elite POB Only Capacitor and work down from there.
In fact, I suggest you pull up N'Varra Wren's YT-1300 here on Eclipse and look at all the components on it. It's a good example of the top end on just about every catagory of ship component.

Thanks Darth!
First two lvl9's a made I spread the points a bit.
Focus on recharge rate
Used Quick recharge battery and put 3/4 of experience points into recharge on the final assembly
Recharge rate 40.4
Cap Energy 824
Focus on Cap Energy
Used a Heavy Battery and put 3/4 of exp point into cap energy on the final assembly
Recharge rate 35.5
Cap energy 1110.9
LvL 7's
Focus on recharge
In this case I used a quick recharge battery, and put all 10 exp points to recharge
94% result on recharge
39.3
27% result on energy
608
Focus on energy
In this case I used a heavy battery
88% result on energy
1043
32% on recharge rate
27.9
