A 113.4 speed engine mark 5 engine, nothing exceptional ever since the patch (my Y-8 has a 114.9 one). But the thing is that this engine was sticked in a tie interceptor honorguard meaning that my normal speed is 1134. Add engive overload 3 and I'm above 1450. Add boosters and it's over 1700.
My speed with overloads is enough so that the rebel space station in deep space can't even shoot me. Did we um... push it too far?

Fast is gooooood.
Might bring missile sales up.
Now if they only bring up the lock ranges on the darn things. I've used the test missles and noted that they fly for about 6000 meters before conking out. Mind you making missles targetable would be a nice addition. That way capital ships can defend them selves against missle attacks.

that would be a great point for a super fast recon fighter to out run missles
we do in real life, well the USA does i should say, has jets that can out run anything that shoots at them.
The engine is its defensive weapon.

No way. Why? Because its a mark 5 engine. You had to grind pilotto get to that speed, you earned it, its not like it was your prototype engine.

i for one love the changes to the engines, now with speed up that high, you can focus most of your points on the improved pyr and come out with some really nice engines....i say good job on the engines, if we have at least one part that is considerably better then loot, you can be assured that at least one part in every pilots ship will be crafted and since it is replaceable unlike the re'd reward engines, pilots (at least from my experiance) will be less likely to use deep space for repairs everytime knowing that they can just run and get another one from their favorite shipwright....

Nice work! That's hot.
I put a Mark V up to 109 last night, just to see if I could do it. Most of the ones I made I balanced between PYR and Speed.
Now.. If we can tweak the capacitors a little more, I wont be grumbling about loot ships. Or at least I'll be grumbling less.

Wow, now i am inspired to start getting some good engine resources.
Any faster and you might end up in uncontrolled hyperspeed. Hmmm.....Maybe you can discover a few hidden planets in the game if you get that fast. hehehehe

Sure I could, I mean I have to slow down to 33% maximum velocity to stick behind an npc but it's possible. The speed is so crazy though that you feel like you're strapped to a bullet.
