Thread: Shipwright = dying proff and TH lies

This statement is correct for the ground based game but doesnt hold water in space.
I do not use a single crafted item in space at all, not even the ship.
I use quest reward ROTW and RE-d parts that i did myself.
When is SOE going to sort this proff?
Should they nerf all the old re'd loot?
Make is so crafted parts are better than loot drops (even when re'd)?
and how many other people dont use crafted items in space?
Loosing faith in the game

Barma,
I've been so busy since the release of rotw that I don't even have time to mine resources to make the new related items or even fly.
So I've actually lost sales because I don't have Mark III Mining lasers or Tractor Beams. Not too much in requests for POB items, but the few Heavy Chassis I was able to make didn't last more than one day.
The expanded datapad storage of ships, imho, is the #1 reason I've been so busy. It's so much nicer to have a ship with all the parts in it so you don't have topull something out of Ship A to put into Ship C.
The adjustments of some of the crafting stats has also made a big difference. I have sold more Engines and Capacitors in the last 1 1/2 weeks than I soldcombined intheprevious 3 months.
This rush reminds me of the early days of JTL.
My outlook remains positive even with the stupid skill tapes only dropping on the ground and the qwests for the new ships. At least for the qwest ships, they don't come with parts.![]()
Just my thoughts,

The CU and RotW have really boosted interest in space. I responded to a post similar to this one with my observations. I can't keep up with orders, especially those requiring asteroid resources. However, I don't mind because I charge 100 CPU for all asteroid resources that go into an item. I have heard noone complain about those prices. Fair is fair, it takes time to mine asteroid resources, and this is the way it has to be--my time is valuable.
Nice

OK just a few comments and thoughts
First isnt this string a bit behind the ball... I stop ground combat, the first time I tested the CU on the TS.
as far as crafted items... I have had certain items custom made to my specs.
I only fly crafted ships... because there mass isnt set and I have had people
want to know where they could get ships with such high mass.
I do agree they need to fix SW crafting because there are few crafted parts that can't be out done by REd parts.
They also need to increase the drop rate of loot parts if they arent going to make SW crafting better and
go back to the old system of REing where the % increase was higher.
Tuesday sales: 3.6mills.
300+ new parts added today.
If we want to get on the subject of loot vs crafted again, I'd like to point out that as a pikeman pre-cu I had to buy looted pikes just to compete. Crafted were ok for minor pve, but for PVP I needed the multi million credit pikes with dots and all that. I never once asked for a player crafted pike. Maybe my perception was skewed, but.. that's the way it was then. I don't know about now.
Shall we not even mention the amazing boost to crafted engines? I'm selling a lot more of these now. Yeah maybe caps need an additional tweak, but they are still better than before.
We have more valuable items to craft and sell than many other professions. I too am very busy from the moment I log in to the moment I log out doing nothing but stocking the vendor and doing custom orders. I constantly amaze pilots with the results of player crafted ship components. They are shocked to find out their raw loot is actually often much worse than crafted.
Reverse engineering is another story. In my thoughts, I don't mind too much if that is better than crafted. It still involves a shipwright who might get a tip and requires only a component crafting tool to perform. Pretty much Zero overhead, compared to the cost of running my shop, vendors, harvestors, and time to sell crafted components.

To do good as a Shipwright requires alot of work. And research! There's few items I can't make better. Also a very important factor, is how you run your buisness!
I avoid doing custom jobs. I just toss up a massive stock.
People know they can come to my shop 24/7 and get what they need.
