Thread: Not a happy player!!

This is just plain wrong. I am in the UK so am unable to get a copy of JTL yet as someone somewhere saw it in thier infinite wisdom to make us wait for it after the rest of you guys. Now I try to become a shipwright and what does it tell me? I have to have JTL installed to start that profession.

Fair enough to use the stuff and go into space I should have to have it but not to do something that doesn't mean I have to leave the ground once!!

I look around and I am seeing Master Shipwrights around already, great now the ones who are unable to get into this profession are going to be worthless when we can as there are so many other people playing for a week longer than us and have a huge head start on us. How many people are willing to pay for stuff that has not been master crafted when they could go elsewhere for it with better stats?

Shall we see how long this post takes to get deleted like the other ones have where people have been complaining about being forced to wait just because they live somewhere different?

I give it a day tops.

In the same boat!

Very fustrating -especially as some of my guildmates have got the game cause they live in europe...it's torture to hear them talk about crafting this and reverse engineering that

I'm sorry this worked out this way. But I will say that I am in a similar boat, and I live in the US. I ordered my pre-order copy of JTL over a month ago for my main account, and it has yet to arrive. I went to the store and bought a copy for my crafter account, but I'm not gonna fly ships with my crafter. Hoping to have mine Monday.

Aye I agree was a bad way to do it ( I'm in US and play on Farstar but even I see how unfair this is)

BUT, There will be MANY opportunities for aspiring SWs ... just specialize in 1 type of Item ( Make the best Blasters, or the Fastest engines, Find the best material combonation to make the strongest Armor).

I was disappointed at first to learn that Armorsmiths would not be making the Armor, but now that I'm a Master Shipwright I can see that there is an opportunity Inside ofSW to be a Master Shipwright Armorsmith or a Master Shipwright Weaponsmith and so on

That is all well and good for the specializing thing and I probably will go that route but at least it would be nice to start getting there. they should not have even put the skill tree in for those who have not got jtl that way we wouldn't have spent however long it took grinding up to it and using up other skill points we had tied up in other more useful things on something that we are not going to be able to even start.

^still not best pleased /growl

Demand's so high that there's really not that much of a head start for those of us who have it. I'm crafting 6-10 hours per day straight and still have to politely turn people away.

I agree that it's a pain.

But it's nothing to do with SOE and everything to do with the distributers.

Got a friend in the US? Get them to buy it off the shelf and post it out to you. Work out some way to pay them back.

If it makes you feel any better, my wife and I preordered two copies ( and forgot to specify a fast delivery ). We might get our copies by the 4th, and we live in the US.

No matter when you get into the profession though , the SW arent going to be able to keep resources in stock constantly .

Right now the biggest part of my sales are missiles.......... I have made over 12 million in missile sales past few days. Right now I am starting to run low on steel and polymetric radioactives. Even though I have over 30 harvester running day and night so its kinda rough

For most part I dont do mass production I sit down with the player and discuss their ship and what they want out of it , so I do charge more for doing consulting , which many people dont have issue wiht paying consulting fee.I tailor make their weapons, shields etc. Bad part though is I get tells from referals and man I get swamped. I myself have started giving names of other shipwrights who could help.

Might I ask what you are charging for missiles?

I am charging 20CPU just like i charge components because i dont want the missile pack to cost more then the launcher for that missile pack.

Absoluely - I am on Chimaera and was lucky enough to get an import copy. I have been going at it solid. My wife is beginning to worry about me

Trust me mate - tha lack of factories means 30 minutes per customer for a fully upgraded set of components. There will be plenty of customers left for you

Thanks for the posts guys, they have calmed me down a little hehe

I am going to be in this for the long run, not wholely to make money, in fact chances are that I will keep things low key until I get a handle on pricing and stuff, the last thing I want is to have the 'architect syndrome' again where people were saying that me charging 4cpu on stuff was way too much.

It just annoyed the hell out of me after I had ground up the xp I needed to get to novice, then freed up the sp by dropping some of my very useful medic skills only to be told that I can't learn the stuff.

On another note I posted pretty much the exact same thing in the general JTL forums and the amount of abuse I received in there was sickening, I am so glad I stick mainly to the crafters forums, better people in here.

Any tips on what I should be starting to make so I can get a foothold in the tree from the outset? I can make up harvestors so it is not going to be a problem getting the mats I need, any cheap old stuff will do for grinding. Thankfully I have friends online that are real money grinders and they will help me out so I can get stuff sorted for them later on.

Thanks again guys

SOE could have anticipated the lag in distribution to europe and adjusted the release accordingly.

That said, lots of deals from the UK to US for last minute travelers!
