I am so tired of making junk! As compared to what can be looted. I use the best resources and I can't even make anything near as good as what I can loot on a casual loot whore day around Corellia. Is this profession screwed up or what? The only thing I can sell as a shipwright is missles and a few launchers. I don't even use anything I can make. My entire ship is equipped with looted items that I can't even touch as a master shipwright. I can make more money selling components to a chassis dealer than I can as a Shipwright. If anybody is as frustrated with this as I am please voice your opinion here.

Then either you have ungodly luck with looting, or you have yet to figure out the optimal ways to craft components. My local SW can produce everything but engines and capacitors better than all but the most exceptional loot.
- Overcharged reactors have a better power to mass ratio
- Intensified shields have better HP and recharge for the mass
- Overdriven boosters have much better speed and acceleration than looted
et cetera

I have no trouble selling every single type of componenet craftable. I'm sorry but only loot that is really good and reasonably rare is better than "everything." Capacitors seem to be exempt from that as they are much better than wha we can craft. However, every other components is very competitive, especially now that they upgraded engines and boosters.

I feel your pain, but think you must be trying to make capacitors and engines.
Yeah, give up on those... a waste of resources. I've finally worked my way up to 4-3-4-4 and finally have enough points to make really kickbutt components (aside from the 2 mentioned above). My reactors are WAY better than anything looted. My shields are better than 95% of looted. My armor is better... etc. etc. The more experimental points you get, the more you gain on looted stuff. At 2-2-2-2 and below, stick to missiles / countermeasures for sale and grind chassis for experience. Once I was at tier 3 in components I started to make really nice stuff especially weapons and reactors and my sales really picked up. I still sell almost zero chassis' but am doing just fine!

sorry, I can't help you here.. I put the looted items also into my vendor and sell them for a better prize, than the junk dealer will give me. I also sell chassis, selft crafted shields, missle launcher and the ammo.

I guess the other question is: Is crafted stuff better than RE loots? Because once you get up there to level 6+ the RE stuff seems to just walk away from the craftable things.

The only loot thats better than the stuff i made is capactiors. Eveything else what i craft is better. If you can't make money being a shipwright there is something VERY wrong with what your makeing.

I stock and sell every SW craftable item.
Yes there are looted parts better, but not everyone has access to them, by simply crafting the best I can with the best available I have very good sales on all parts. My biggest sellers are
Mark IV Engines
Mark II & IV Capacitors
Mark IV Weapons
Mark III Boosters
Mark II, III, IV Protons
Mark I & II Spacebombs
Otheritems sell but these are my biggest sellers.

Yeah, I know. My capacitors seriously stink! I wish they'd do something about that.
Anyway, I've found frequently that unless the loot drop is exceptional, I can craft a better component.
And for exceptional stuff? I offer REing to my customers as an option, I believe you can make a good profit either way.
oh, uh, I felt the same way about you until a friend pointed out I could scroll DOWN in my experimentation options. Boy was I red in the face!
Blame it on the fact that this is first time I've done crafting seriously!

i can craft most components better than looted (excluding exceptional ones ie my 95.8 speed engine)except capacitors because of the copper required ,still waiting for a good spawn.

I can make 103.x TS mk5 engines even with a crappy JTL ore
We now have a nice JTL copper on Farstar but the weapon caps are still much worse than looted ones
