I have the same problem myself. I loot better stuff than I can craft. I talked to my friends, and they think my stuff is better than their loot. I think we're just getting lucky. I only really pay attention to what I want to keep from my loot unlees it's comparable to what I'm using. The rest of the loot I get is a bit on the average side.
