I had the same promlem when this went live. It took me a few days to figure it out. First, ATK Musicians do not get near Cantina's that were or are buff bot havens. Go to the Musician Forum there is a stickie with registered Musicians for all Servers. My server had 2 but most have around a dozen. Put them in your friends list. Almost all servers have a server channel 'ent' where entertainers hang out you can ask there. Musian's that are ATK have hangouts where they get together. On Tarq it is Mois Eisley for some reason. Try going to all Cantina's during a busy time till you find one that has alot of people in it.
The important part is when you find a live Musician. Be friendly and polite and tip very generously. I tip 100k for the Master Buff. Talk to the entertainer if he is not busy doing other things with friends. You migh just make a new friend. I have made a bunch. I am also told what their alt names are and to send them tells if they are online. Alot of them are doing the same as you. They have alts they play during primtime that are not Musicians. Just like the Tells you get from strangers "Hey, I need Uber l33t ship." If you are demanding or a problem your tell will probably be ignored. I play off hours on a small server, Tarq. It is now not unusual for me to get one or two tells while I am logging asking me if I need a buff.
Yeah I just did a thing on Wanderhome where I'm paying shipwrights a mil for a buff if they're at the keyboard this week, heh. I tend to tip very well. It's just there are so few of them. I think the best idea is to just get a shipwright buff at primetime, then log out and play my main until I'm ready to craft.

Did you actually logoff out just quit. I sit in my house, /logout and my buffs lose about 15 minutes only.

I do the same and like you said I only loose about 15 mins of the buff. I was thinkning that may have to do with my stomach always being full when I log but maybe not.
Mos Eisley...the starting city for ALL new chars is usually decent place as well...
nothing good thing is to find your server entertainer/musician ect channel =) helped me lots and now I can find an atk musician anytime I need....you may have to travel...but usually there's one somewhere =)
