do you think that charging 4cpu for chasis' is outrageous? I had someone send me a tell and say that 60k for a y-wing was too expensive and that there were people selling them on the bazaar for 6k. ! What are you all chargin for a y-wing?

I am charging 10 cpu for all chassis. I don't sell many, but the resources and my time are worth that much.

Yes, Z-95 and Y-wings are showing up on the bazaar for 6k credits. Those are hopefully used deeds from people who are moving up to the next level of ships.

Anymore, I will only build chassis to order using uber resources and charging 10-20 cpu for them.

I have been asked about pricing and how i developed my pricing matrix

First, I was an architect for some time and to give you an example I would sell heavy mineral harvs at 115k per

business was great at first but it began to drop due to the fact that once you buy a heavy harv you dont need to replace it you just repair it. The same thing goes for chassis -once you buy one you don't need to buy again till you level up.

The required resources for novice pilot chassis are low therefore pricing is only 50k per. Keepin mind you will level very fast andi really don't see a demand for novice chassis.

The required resources for Teir 1 chassis are much morethan double then you would expect with architect.

Cost for Teir 1 chassis 125k

The required resources for Teir 2 chassis are double that of Teir 1

Cost for Teir 2 chassis 200k

The required resources for Teir 3 chassis are double that of Teir 2 and require special resources

cost for Tier 3 chassis 500k

As for Tier 4 and masteri have yet to figure out pricing.

I hope this will help are valued coustomers, and i HOPE fellow Shipwrights will take note not to distroy the market like the architect profetion.

as for components i will have a price list up for tomorrow

ONE MORE THING TO ADD......

Suprised, no one else picked up on this yet.

Your components and chassis, lose 10% of their current armor/hitpoint values.

i.e. Component with 100Armor/100Hitpoint value, gets disabled in space (0/100, 0/100)

you repair it loses (100 x 0.1 condition = 10) 100 - 10 = 90 Armor/HP

you get that same component disabled again (90 x 0.1 condition = 9) 90 - 9 = 81 Armor/HP

3rddisable(81 x 0.1 = 8.1) 81 - 8.1 = 72.9 Armor/HP

4th disable (72.9 x 0.1 = 7.29) 72.9 - 7.29 = 65.6 AP/HP

5th disable (65.6 x 0.1 = 6.56) 65.6 - 6.56 = 59.0 AP/HP

6th disable (59.0 x 0.1 = 5.90) 59.0 - 5.90 = 53.1 AP/HP

7th disable (53.1 x 0.1 = 5.31) 53.1 - 5.31 = 47.8 AP/HP

8th disable (47.8 x 0.1 =4.78) 47.8 -4.78 = 43.0 AP/HP

9th disable (43.0 x 0.1= 4.30) 43.0 - 4.30 = 38.7 AP/HP

10th disable (38.7 x 0.1 = 3.87) 38.7 - 3.87 = 34.8 AP/HP<---- Not 0 AP/HP

Anyways can't remember for sure my calculations in beta but it takes like 43 full repairs (meaning your component is disabled 0%) before the component reaches 1% condition.

43 disables on a component is not a crazy amount of decay (however I would like to see chassis decay at 5%, I think 43 deaths for your chassis istoo quickconsidering the costs for them)

As a side note... If a component is at say, 50/100 condition and you repair it, the formula is 50 x 0.1 = 5... Thecomponent would be repaired to 95/95. Whereas had you let it get disabled it would be repaired to 90/90.

I would like to thank BioTech for there insight in the decay issue.

After a lot of tweaking of my pricing over the weekend, I am charging 7 CPU for ships and 20 CPU for components. When I start incorporating upgrades into components, I will probably differentiate those components with a higher price.

There is some method to the madness that I used to derive this pricing system. First, I spent alot of time going around and looking at what other shipwrights were charging, including information from this forum. In my opinion, my prices aren't too far off the mark. Second, I started thinking about other items that players purchase for their daily activities, like armor, food, medicine, weapons.

I started thinking that buying ship components is a lot like buying armor. A player investing in armor has many components to purchase, with a variety of stats on those components. Thus, I started thinking that a player should not balk at spending as much on a set of ship components as they would for a set of armor. After struggling with this for awhile, I decided to keep it simple and have a flat rate for all components. I figured that an average player would be willing to put out between 100-200K for an average set of armor. I tinkered with this for awhile and decided that Mark I and Mark II components need to be expendable, and thus need to be priced accordingly. GIven this, I started with Mark III components, which someone is probably going to use for awhile. I figured that there are a minimum of eight components that a pilot will want, including reactor, engine, booster, capacitor, (at least one) weapon, armor plating (2 pieces), and shield generator. If you figure 20 CPU, then a set of components runs 160K, which equates nicely to a set of armor.

Feedback welcome.

I sell at 10 cpu.... thought about lowering to 8 cpu, but flurry is having a shortage of steel at the moment.... I made roughly 12 million over the past 2 days selling at 10 cpu.

If your customer gripe about prices, remind him that you have to pay for the raw material to make the ship, and that not only are the materials not cheap, and alot are required. If he cannot afford your prices then make a deal... if he brings you the needed resources you'll charge a small fee to actually assemble the blue prints.

Howdy all

I think the reason your seeing y-wings ect..at 6K is because it is similiar to gungan heads in the arch profession for those grinding up to Master. Personally, Im selling those at 2cpu on my vendor....Since Im leveling up Im not using by best resources until I hit master. Doesnt make that much of a difference if I practice. Might as well sell a few as I level....Plus on Wanderhome there are alot of folks going SW....

Once I hit Master then I'll price up...

Considering chassis resource are selling anywhere from 2-5 cpu right now, your prices are low.

I'm sure quite a few SW can raise their hands and Yeah I feel your pain... Though I haven't had anyone tell me my prices are high - I've seen messages on boards about people complaining that SW's in general charge too much.. /sigh I really don't get it.. This is like no other profession out there.. Pretty much everything needs to be done by hand - The resourses it takes is huge - not to mention the fact that you need all kinds of resourses - with all kinds of stats - your great Steel that you have for one part may be horrible for another. It's also not like throwing some resourses into your crafter and boom a fully equiped ready to fly X-wing pops out - you need to build everything from the ground up..

So I wouldn't worry - I really think some players are out to bully SW's into selling ships really low... Unfortunitly it seems to be working..

Did you get the memo about chassis not needing HQ resources to make?

Some buyers are very picky. Let them walk away and take the next guy in line.
