Awesome work on compiling this info AhrienTerrik. I agree with your fix suggestions, and have implemented something exactly along those lines for Publish 24 to fix the experimentation issues with the Elite components and mining tools. When Pub 24 hits TC, you'll see that resource requirements have changed for all of these components to make experimentation more favorable.

You'll also notice that the Elite, multiplayer-ship-only components have had some pretty major stat upgrades so that a team of people crewing a multiplayer ship will be a formidable force. I've tweaked those stats before, but not to this extent. People have told me that a crewed multiplayer vessel should be about as deadly as if those people were each flying a starfighter, and the stat increases I implemented should put the elite components into that range. I'll tweak in testing as needed based on your feedback and our QA, so once you guys get a hold of these changes, please let me know how close I am to being on target with these changes.

I just finished testing the extra turret additions on the Y-8---two new fully functional turrets on the frontside of the ship that cover the front and sides of the ship. The range of motion on them is pretty permissive. Add that to mining laser experimentation fixes, some decreased asteroid resource requirements on items that use them, and an increase in the number of resources granted per asteroid chunk destroyed/tractor beamed, and I think mining in the Y-8 will be a more attractive proposition. Look for that change in Publish 24.

Found the issue, put an end to it. You will be able to move things up and down in your Y-8 in Pub. 24. Sorry it took so long to get to this issue and put it to rest.

That will change with Pub. 24 as well. I just finished testing my fixes to the protect the convoy mission that was busted in the Y-8 sequence on my test server here, and it seems to work like a charm now. Y-8s for everyone!

Now to see about that move up/down bug in the Y8 interior...

I was just thinking today about that status bar getting cut off and saying "boy I hope they fix that soon".


Now I see all this stuff. Wow.


Just got my Y-8 and was thinking about decking it out but I guess I'll wait. Wondering if I should bother with Deci upgrades to elites even. Though Pub 24 may be a while.

Thanks for your diligence in this area IIscander. Finally,a publish to look forward too (it has been awhile).

Now for the stretch goals--any word on a ship hanger?

I like the changes to MP ships.


The Millenium Falcon took on dozens of TIE Interceptors, Tie Fighters, etc at various times and came out on top. The MP ships have been underpowered for some time, good to see them getting attention.


Sadly no comment on the Y-8, sounds good changes. However due to the bugged nature of the mission to get them, I can't get one .

Nice one IIscandar and kudos to AhrienTerrik for putting up the post about the Roid Resources and how they affected the components.

I love the sound of the buffed up POB ships. So far, space battles in them are the only time I have felt truly immersed in the Star Wars Universe (love it when the alarms go off ) Doing Corvette runs is a lot of fun when you do it in a POB ship - sounds like this will make it more viable. And if nothing else, a hard as nails POB ship is as close as we'll get to a Cap ship for a long time

And from a purely selfish POV - if they make POB ships as good as the post suggest, I can see a boost in business. Not just the Chassis - but the elite components as well.

Will be curious to see what the new resource requirements are and how much we can fit into the starfighter cargo holds if they have had their capacity upped. While I like the mechanism for mining (I'm weird) I think they could lessen the time sink of having to land and unload every 5 minutes. Doing that actually takes more time than it does for me to fill a starfighter hold (1550 unit one).

But before I get excited about the Y8 changes, I would prefer to see some definite word on when the quest will be fixed.

Otherwise - all great news. Keep it coming

As far as fixing the Y-8 quest, I would guess they will fix it when the Y-8 itself is fixed, otherwise they just have even more broken Y-8's out there.
