Thread: Pricing RE Components
I square the part lvl, for example a lvl 5 part is $25,000 and my vendors are busy as hell after my weekly RE sessions. My ships are decked out so I don't really need the gear anymore. If I find something really good I will save it for when a guild mate needs something.
I think that price could even go up a bit more but I am fine with the returns I get.
my ships havent got to the point in happy with yet so havent really produced any amazing RE's but i think if i were to sell some it'd have to be the auction forum for my server because they are near impossible to price. the main reason for that being so few people sell parts above level 7. they tend to keep them for themselves to get re'd etc so that makes thing that much more rare. pluss the drop rate on lvl 7 and above stuff is a little lower, and lower again for realllly good lvl 7 and above stuff.
for example i did 3 naboo black sun duties last night. all ships in the duty are tier 4 and 5. a ratio of about 75% tier 4 and 25% tier 5. from those 3 duties i got around 60 parts. from those 60 parts maybe 10-15 of them at the very most were level 7 or above. and from those 10-15 only about 2-4 were parts that were great. so even by doing 3 missions a night every night it takes a long time to build up what you need. and even longer because people dont want to sell what they have. but every once in a while you get that sweet part that makes it worth it. like last night i picked up a 9.7 second lvl 10 DI and a 98.6 speed lvl 10 engine with 75 ish PYR.

I think most shipwrites underprice their stuff dramatically. It doesnt matter if its crafted or not... its hard to keep up with the demand! Particularly as you've shown us in regards to reverse engineering level 5+ parts. Its even harder to find parts that are worth reverse engineering.
I guess thats why I get burnt up when I see other shipwrights selling level 10 stuff for like 100k... Then again, I just buy it and resell it if its good enough... lol.
Doesnt anyone research anymore?

I wondered this same thing..... and came to the conclusion that it's not worth selling RE'd parts, you'll never get the value out of the really good parts, and the not-so-good parts usually can be beat by crafted parts.
I RE for me and my guildmates, and when I RE for my guildmates I usually don't charge them more than 1k per level of component per component..... if I charge them anything at all. Sometimes it's better to just make a gift of something you spent so much time on, rather than try to assign some imaginary value to it.
This is nice for the guildies I guess, but I have to disagree with crafted items being better then RE'd items. RE items take much more effort to assemble, and you have to be very patient. However, once you know what to look for and you plan your parts wisely, you can make far more superior weapons. For example, I made a level 7 REd cannon today with the following stats (roughly);
- Armor/hit points; 550
- Reactor drain; 1900
- Mass; 10,000
- Damage 1950-3000
- Vs. Shields; .65
- Vs. Armor; .65
- Refire; .31
- Per shot; 21
I dont have access to the exact numbers, but thats pretty close! Its a mean gun and a far cry better then any I've seen available on any vendor so far...
But it also took me a month to assemble. If I wasnt so impatient, I probably could have done alot better!
Want your 2.5 million back?

I specialize only in L7 and L8 weapons for the reward blaster REs, and I go with a 107/108000 pricing structure...
...I'd LIKE to go back to the 20k I used to put them on the bazaar for to give people access to lower-priced components, but a particular reseller ruined that by buying them and then reselling them for Level x 20000. I'm not gonna put crap on the bazaar so someone else can line their pockets. At least I'm still undercutting him.
