Thread: Level 2 Capacitor...better deal than higher levels?

Just RE'd a capacitor with 43 recharge and 929 energy, 1500 mass. If I'm the overcharge-using type, I cant imagine needing a higher level capacitor than this. Any thoughts?

I've had lvl 2 capacitors at nearly 1150 energy, I usually don't do anything less than 1k if I can help it. But to answer your question, if you're using overloads then that'll probably be just fine for you. About the highest I usually put in my or my friends ships are lvl 4 capacitors, but I do have some 6 and 8's that are pretty powerfull, just waiting for the right project.

wow! thats a rediculous lvl 2 recharge. best one i have REd came out 39.2 recharge and 900+ energy, thought it was the coolest

yeah i agree, RE'd lev 2 and 4 r the best. altho i am usin an RE'd lev 6 in mi krayt atm (1187 store and 49.6 recharge) but thats coz of mi guns i like to fire n nor use power so i can emergency recharge mi shields nicely if needed

Actually just snagged 2 new lvl 2 bits: 42.6 recharge and 1090 energy. This one's gonne be sweeeeet..... (havent' RE'd it yet)

Yes, I can think of some builldouts that require a capacitor with higher energy and recharge rates, including (but no limited to) a B-wing equipped with 4 level 7 weapons, a heavy X-wing equipped with 3 level 7 weapons, and an ARC-170 equipped with 3 level 7 weapons. I'm also thinking that the Y-8 will need a hefty capacitor after publish 24.

If they unbug Weapon Overload 3, we might consider bigger caps, but until then, I shoot for a 1k energy L2, and only use more if I have left-over mass.

I second that--what's wrong. I notice increased damage when I use WO3.

It's not "wrong" in that it's not working, however if you read how WO3 is supposed to work, it's supposed to put an additional drain on the reactor.
As far as the OP's L2 Capacitor, that will be perfect for just about any ship with proper equipment and droid commands, even a Krayt or B-Wing.

What's wrong with it is it's too good. It DOES give you the increase in damage, but it's also supposed to increase the energy drain and capacitor use of your weapons. Currently it decreases those as well... so not only do the do more damage, but they also use less reactor energy and less capacitor energy per shot.
If they fix it, look for WO3 to make your weapons use about 5x the capacitor energy per shot than they do now. Maybe more.
