Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy SW. I've been a SW since JTL beta, but now I'm not even going to try to earn a living off of it. There are SWs all around me that sell dirt cheap. 1k per level? Good grief I may as well sell the resources.
Assuming the devs don't nerf jedi into oblivion and all toons really do get a CU respec, I think I may ditch SW. I'd drop it now and do something else, but I don't feel like grinding anything, especially when "all toons" are going to get to repick thier skills May 5th. Not sure what I'll do, possibly BH/Carb or maybe AS to support my jedi. Is anyone else thinking about bailing on SW when you have a chance?

Considering the expense that went into becoming a Shipwright, and how in a year and a half of playing this game SW actually made me pick up a crafting tool, I don't think I would drop it.

I don't plan on dropping SW, but this will sure help out for sales I think.

Since I'm still a novice working slowly on my initial spec, I don't think a respec is gonna do me much good, anyhow.
I'll still be around, I think.

Heck, I'm only 75% of the way through the grind into SW right now. I plan to stay there a while. In fact, I'm looking forward to much of the CU changes. I've only been a light combatant anyway, and I'm looking forward to freeing up the SP I have tied up in novice medic. I'm more of a self-service SW anyway. I'm not out for the big bucks. (don't worry, I'm not flooding the market with cheap crap)

I'm sticking with it because being a shipwright is more than just about earning credits. I actually don't earn a lot of money being a shipwright. I'm also a Master DE, and together I enjoy playing because I can craft the coolest things in the Star Wars universe: droids and ships.

In my Opinion the new combat system looks to have the potential to be a lot better than the existing one. Many of the bugged combat and pseudo-combat professions are getting fixed. Armour and buffs look to be much fairer across the board and the increased vulnerability will make the game much more adventurous, provided they make some of the hard mobs more vulnerable to appropriate groups (e.g. the DWB mobs).
I'm certainly going to give it a go and a fair chance to succeed. I am expencting my other characters to be Commando/Smuggler, and Doctor/Combat Medic. professions I have enjoyed in the past (and some of which I retain today).
And Dezrick will reamain an SW, provided RSI doesn't get the better of me.

I don't see why the CU would make anyone want to leave SW, unless of course they want to do more combat. Regardless of that, my shipwright is my support character for my main character, so I don't really feel the need to change his template, and even if I only had one character I practically live in space so I don't think I could get along without a shipwright.

I am seriously thinking about it. I am a Smuggler first and only picked up Shipwright to be able to trick out my own ship and make a quick buck. I gave up a profitable speeder business to do it, and so far have spent more then I have made between buying resources and loot componets looking for Firespray disks (still need disk 1. If anyone on intrepid has one for trade or sale, let me know).
I want to try some new things, and with smuggler finally getting some combat skills, I might try and get into PvP. I might have to pick up some additional skills, and all I have to drop is Shipwright and some merchant skills needed to run the business.
I will be sad to drop it. Shipwright has been fun. I have just not recouped my initial investments and want to try something new. Maybe I will keep it if there is a big boom in demand for ships based on the new ships and space minning, but that si all that would keep me here.

I was considering dropping SW, not because of the CU, more because of the failure of JTL to hold peoples interest (Sunrunner server).
My charachter is a master DE, SW and artisan, and considering the devs interest (or lack thereof) in DE,I mightdrop thatand 2 trees of artisan and pick up a combat profession again. That or pick up AS since our resident smith has gone MIA
Who knows....my wife just figured out how much I pay per month for two accounts. I could lose everything tomorrow
