I tend to agree.... For instance, you may have a lev 8 gun that does close to 4000 damage, but weighs a TON... you need to RE it with other pieces to get the weight down...

I think that no ONE piece of loot should be Über. If it has 1 outstnading stat, the others should be pretty crappy, necessitating the need to RE it

Some feedback for you on your bug list.

  1. Crafted Ship Components names drop to the first word in the generic name upon being removed from a ship. Closed - Fixed

  2. Shipwright trainers do not show up in the proper place on the overhead map, nor when using /find This item seems to be included in the November 4th patch, waiting for confirmation that it works before removing it from this list. -- As designed not bugged

  3. If you choose a reserved name for the new name on a RE-ed component, you don't get a second chance to name it. Additionally you don't get an option to name an item when using the last charge of the Component Analysis Tool - Bugged

  4. Amazing Assembly bonus has no affect over Great Success. The stats remain identical, I have tested this with a variety of parts. INVESTIGATING -- could use more information please

  5. Chaff Launchers various levels don't tell you which certification level they are during the creation process, only when completed. -- Bugged

  6. Definite issues with Droid Interfaces. They've fixed higher lvl items being better (you want low speed btw), but RE'ing still pushes it the wrong way. -- Bugged

Thank you very much for the feedback Tiggs!

On the Amazing Assembly's not kicking in. I've witnessed this with just about every shipwright component (blasters, disruptors, ion cannons, chaff launchers, missile launchers, capacitors, reactors, engines, boosters, chassis, shields, armour) across the board while using high end materials (I have not tested it for low end, sciguyCO's comment that it might be resource cap related is interesting, and I will test that out later and report here). Essentially the problem is observable by simply repeatedly using the exact same resources for the same item over and over (you'll see it faster using pyr cakein a research center). You'll notice that neither do the initial starting points for the experimental percentages change, nor is the cap higher on their maxes when comparing an amazing success to a great success. Considering the number of players who likely went with Ithorian/Sullustan for the assembly bonus (*cough *cough* ME *cough*) this is most unfortunate.

As for the trainers not being where they think they are, this has virtually no impact on experienced players (we just poke around or /target) but I've had tells from more then one new player who was confused and unable to find the trainer. I just can't think of any reason to have the /find command direct you to the wrong place, some insight here would be appreciated.

I'll test the crafted ship component name solidity later tonight and remove it (hopefully ).

As for the items which are known to be bugged, don't suppose we can expect them to be fixed at some point in the near future? Or at least some idea of which are a high priority and which are low on your to-fix lists. (I can tell you which are more important to me, and styx can likely poll and find out which are more important to the community, although some are obviously lower down on the list (chaff certs) where as some are higher up (naming RE).

Thanx again for the feedback, I really do appreciate it.

you missed one crafted capacitors are no where near as good as the worst of the looted capacitors. loot vs crafted is still upside down. loot better than the best crafted items should be the exception not the rule. this diminsihes both crafting and hunting for loot. when EVERYTHING you loot is better than what can be made it creates a ho-hum aspect on killing htings for loot when a good item loot is selling for 2k on the bazaar when it should be having auctions going on the boards for bidding rights something is wrong.

if this isnt fixed ASAP its going to trivialize looted items.

That's not a bug, it's an issue/wish-list item. Check out styx's stickied thread on Issues/Bugs/Wish List items for stuff like this. In my mind a bug is something that is not working as intended, where as an issue is more of a design decision. Since craft caps and loot caps (talking about capacitors and caps is confusing) are just coded numbers I assert this is a design decision and not a bug.

I made an investigation of the impact of experimentation on the mass of each ship type. Feel free to include a link to this if you feel it is relevant.
