Being attacked by the random MOB while I'm in my house is a pain especially when i'm stocking vendors and can't see anything around me...

And yes if you CL 1 and a narglatch spawns beside your house on naboo it'll stalk you and eat you for breakfast...darn things have learned to open doors....sorta reminds me of Jurrasic Park II....

Stay out of the long grass!!!!!

The thing is combat characters can obtain most services from crafters even though the crafter is not around...via the vendor....

As a crafter, to get muscle, has to look around for someone who's currently online and is available to assist. This unavailabilty on a demand is what seriously hampers crafter activity... If a globalized system of some sort can be established where crafters can get assistance on when required (on demand seems a bit snooty) things would make things better for crafters.

So no i'm not against player interconnectivity ... we just need a system to make it easier.

Tip for new shipwrights...

Shipwrighting is a resource intensive crafting profession. Make sure your harvesters are properly maintained and powered. That way they'll always be pulling material even though your not online. My primary goal as shipwright was to aquire heavy miniral, chemical harvesters and fusion generators. This way I am in the long run able to cut cost by not having to purchase resources.

I personally like supporting myself when it comes to resources--that, and it's hard to find a decent resource output without having to travel to multiple places finding what you need (in the case of high-end or specific resources) But, alas, I cannot fully support my crafting needs with harvestors, so I *do* need to buy some particular resources (in this case, inert petrochem).

I personally believe that running your own harvestors as a up and coming SW is crucial to fully understanding the profession you are about to embark on; I'm not talking about the veteran SWG players who decided to remake a toon (and hell, this can apply to just about ANY crafting class)

And whilst on the subject, the phenomenon of a novice crafter rising through the ranks relying on purchasing resources is just highly unlikely--95% of all crafters who started this game a crafter *raises hand--/frowns (DE)* surveyed, sampled and harvested their own materials to grind with. Now before anyone comments on this opinion, let me reiterate the part where I said "started this game a crafter".

My tip is this, frankly:
If you *are* a SW in the making, at least TRY to harvest and support yourself, in the sense of resources. Like someone suggested, it's not for everyone, but you'll be that much closer to understanding the intricacies of your class.

And most likely, you're doing this already--in which case, just ignore me; I'm insane half of the time anyway.
