Thread: Thank you SOE for making me compete with a NPC buyer for RE components.

I'm currently split on the issue of whether this was a good or bad change...

I do agree with this poster, and believe the change was introduced as a database offset. Within a week of JTL's launch their was more looted ship parts on the bazaars then any other category. That and the slew of space loot vendors that cropped up around the galaxy (I created one myself). I think the devs noticed this, and this is their quick fix result.

As a shipwright, I hate it, as it is making it harder to find low re parts to re for firespray disks.

Only time will tell if this is a good, bador insignificant change. I do find it kind of weird that the payout rate was set at 1K (would have thought some low number like 100cr-250cr per RE level), with all the recent money sink addition and solo nerfing.

Again they could have made it even easier on us as well. How sweet would it be for all pilots and Shipwrights to allow us to buy the stuff to RE, then we could go sale the Re'd stuff to the chasis builder, or vice versa they give us the stuff to help us out "if they are friends or something" we return for them to sale. This would have been a win win situation for both parties!

yea just what we need another super easy way to get money,, Soe is looking for money sinks and they go and toss in a big money adder.. And with the loot frequencey/lvl increase, god youll be making a half million an hour no problem

I have to agree here. The solo group nerf was an attempt to stem the waterfall of credits into the economy. But now it looks like they have just opened up a bigger waterfall here.

yes the chassis dealer definatly gonna affect the economy but more than that it will affect out come of firesprays produced especcially since it seem the chances of getting aschematic piece was drastically lowered last patch. so as i see one the prices of re'd lott that good selling on the vendors is going up plus with other shipwright on tarquinas we';re talking about fire sprays costing in the neighbor hood of the same price you pay for an av-21 landspeeder due to thaey may indeed be that rare

just forget about the time line it nolonger exits her hasn't for some time. we're in a virtual star wars universe and it our time line not the movies. so its what we make of this universe ourselves. once this is realized then you'll start having fun

What I really hate about this is that alot of people will be selling some really good stuff to this chassis guy..

Many people only look at energy and RR when evaluating a cap for instance... but when I need a cap for my little lizzy Im also limited in mass and energy drain (big ass reactor = big ass mass)

Im afraid people will be selling these low mass low drain goodies to the chassis builder, not to speak of the noobs selling their uber stuff to this guy and its gone for good.

I love scouring the bazar for good parts, but since that guy started buying everything its really been cut down to trickles :-(

I can understand the SW's side of the coin.

But here's the other side.

I have like... zero intrest in the ground game. Flying costs money.
Before this part buying option, i'd loot dozens of parts. You know what i did with them? Id examine all of them flying back to port on autopilot. Keep the one or two that were worth keeping, and stuffed the rest in a bag. THen, id delete them all.

Whatever it is about REg... I dunno, i don't care, its just too much garbage to sift through, and it takes entirely too long to track down a SW to find out if he wants to buy it or not - you guys need to avertise more. Seriously ive only seen one SW, EVER, who advertised he was buying parts. I'm guessing most were scaming their stuff of the market for dirt cheap.

To me the parts were junk, just crap loot that took up space in my inventory that i had to sift through. Now, they are supplmentary income to whatever i normally earn doing missions.

It's still not stopping anyone from posting the stuff on the bazaar for 1k per level + filing fee.

Can you sell the item AFTER r-e?

Yes. But you will get only the money for 1 item. This is fine with RE level 1 items. It hurts your pocket with higher RE level stuff.

If you RE a level 10 item and sell it, you will get 10k. If you sell the 10 parts used for REing you will get 10x10k=100k.

Luckily, I have a number of friends in my guild, who still supply me with parts...

Isn't the payout based on equipment certification level, and not the RE level?

I took two droid interfaces (cert 7 & 8, both RE level 1) to the Chassis Builder, and was offered 7k and 8k for them.

I see this as a boon as well as a bust for SW. I know many of us take all those silly lvl 1 RE'd armors and either throw them on the vendor for dirt cheap or just toss them. I never tossed them, just cleaned out my vendor, and made 473k Easy easy money.
