As one guildmate calls it, 14 yo economics. My kids have learned, though allowance, about what things cost. Too many jerks try to con me out of my rightful profit. I charge 6 cpu for chassis and 10 cpu for components. I do not build lower than lvl 5 components, except for CM's and missles. I sell lots of RE stuff, 500 per lvl. I buy it at 350 per lvl. The jerks want to buy for 500 and sell it to me for 5000.

I know a resource vendor that did 600 million the first week. I am sure he sells the credits to finance his/her game play, but that is another issue.

Just today I had someone asked me how much an A-Wing was. When I told him, he said " Great, I have 4 you can buy from me". I told him 240k each and only 2 because the market was getting soft. He couldn't believe I wouldn't buy his chassis'.

*stunned silence*

Do none of these monkey-spawned illegitimates play regular RPG's anymore? I have never played one where the vendors would buy back at better than 65% of retail, and he wanted you to biuy them for what you sell them at? It beggars belief!

If you have ever collected baseball cards, comic books or even Magic cards, you KNOW retailers will not buy at full price! I know this is just a game, but I never realized it was a FANTASY game

When I was 14 I knew about this. The current crop are all screwed up from Pok-your-mom and Yu-gi-uh-oh. They all trade at magazine value ith each other, but I know nearly all of them at some point try to sell to the store for money or more cards, and they KNOW the store is not gonna buy at book price, even though they sell at that price (or gouge, I knew plenty of stores that tried to ride the card-bull all the way and went under).

They know better. The little monkeys are just trying to see what they can get away with.

Maybe I'm just insane, but money is so easy to make in this game I have yet to complain about a price. but then, I am not a Jedi either and don;t need to buy a crystal

For the most part, I just ignore customers who complain about pricing. It doesn't happen very often to me. But I use the following rules for most of my goods:

1) If I am selling more than I can produce, I raise the price.

2) If I am not selling any or very little, I lower the price.

3) Keep fiddling back and forth until you find a happy medium.

4) THEN, leave yourself open for offering deals. For example... a customer asks me how much for a Tier 4. I tell him 480k. He says "Woah!" I say "Yeah, they can be a bit pricey. But well worth it. But I'll tell ya what. For 480k I'll throw in a small crate of chassis repair tools and a paint kitfor ya. Whacha say?" Then they usually get giddy and take it.

Doing the above has worked very well for me for about 8 months. Let's me have time to play the game and have fun, too.

Throw in a few missle packs and you'd be suprised how loyal your customers become. Good prices attract customers, great service that keeps them.

Charge what you want for the items, if someone says its too expensive tell them to go out and buy the several million units of resources and grind shipwright themselves and see how much they'd charge.

I charge 5 cpu, but then most of my sales are to guildmates. I make most of my components to order and use the best resources I can EXCEPT for chassis. If someone has a problem with my prices, I invite them to bring their own resources and then charge them a 1/2 cpu overhead (there is some value in those 10 experimentation points after all). I have had no complaints and would ignore anyone who did complain.

Education about our real cost isn't even worth the effort anymore. These are my prices. If you don't like them, there is no need to comment (especially in my own store). It's rude and gets you the ban. Of which all people thus far banned have emailed/spoken with me to be readmitted to shop at my store. I call it TUFFluv™
