Ok, first I want to say thank you to all the shipwrights that have been answering my questions so patiently.
Second, after reading HythosSWG's post, it begs a new question. Why in the heck are some shipwrights in game telling us this? Was it that at one point in time the same name was required (like during beta or something) but was then changed? I'll have to make sure that I notify my guild's shipwright of this... not only will this make it easier on me, but it'll be easier on everyone else in the guild and on him too, I bet.
Once again, thanks a mill.

When I started as a SW, I also thought that the items have to have the same name. Until I coincidently use a different part for RE'ing it.
One would have to look very hard until he finds the needed amount of items with exactly the same name for RE.

You can tell your SW that only the RE Level and the type of components matters for successful RE. And no, RE can't fail. Not yet.. maybe the Dev's will change that sometimes.. but now it is always 100% successful.

So If I combine 10 level 10 sheild gens including one sheild gen I looted that has 0 for all the stats apart froma mass at 100 and armour at 50 What would happen ?

It would take the best stats. If the best number for that stat is a low number (such as energy/shot or energy drain or mass), then it would go with the 0. If the best number for that stat is a high number (such as damage or energy production or armor), then it would go with which ever item had the highest number in that stat.
