I'd be careful about only mounting 1 combat weapon and then one mining laser and 1 tractor beam.
It depends on where you mine, but I'd highly recommend taking some support if you plan on mining in Dath or Kessel. Tier 4s and 5s can take a while to kill with only 1 combat weapon. And Force help you if more than one pair spawns.

A crew meber can but not the owner of the ship.. same falls with the tractor beam, and this is only from the tools gained fromt he quest, as no player tools have been made yet.2. the Y-8 has no loot drop box and you cant decorate it yet (I know everyone seems to already know about not decorating it yet, but no one has noticed the lack of the loot box.)3. if you are doing the mining quest and are flying a 2 seater ship (ie the krayt) and come to the mission where you have just recived your tractor beam and are going to steal cargo off the stranded freighter.. you need to change ships.... with a 2 seater ship the quest wont work properly... I did the quest 3 times in my kryat and the mission would not complete.. I changed to another ship ( a single seater) and did the quest again and got it.
I couldn't get it to work with my Krayt, but that was because I had the tractor in weapon slot 2, which apparently can only be used by a second player gunner. Soon as I switched itto slot 4 (with the laser in slot 3) everything went fine.

5 stars to you, very nice guide ^^
Here is a little screenie of those weird chunks as you can see when it pops in your inventory: (Clicky)
Pretty he? I'm sure it's gorgeous as interior decoration, let's put it on the table right next to*CCRRRAAASH!!!!*.... omg...
Don't try this at home kids!
(anyway, if it stays as is, i'm sure Interior Decorators will find lots of things to do with these ^^)
edit: corrected clicky

Could you possibly add to your guide a list of which stations buy which resources also? I know I have seen a list like that around here recently but for the life of me I cannot find it again.
Thanks,

All of the stations that buy resources buy all resources - prices vary, but they each buy everything.
I do hint at the names above - look for "Mining Outpost" "RSF Outpost" "CorSec Outpost" or "Trade Federation Outpost". As of the last time I checked the normal 1km /comm range doesn't apply so you can talk from across the system.

Yes, but I thought there was a definate preference per station. I assume they made it at least a little difficult to get the best price for a given resource in the same system in which you harvested it?

By 'preference' they mean a few cpu variation in price - I haven't got a full list together I'm afraid, I'm still a little annoyed that I play on the only server that still hasn't got RotW turned on

No.
They buy, they don't sell.

Perhaps the DEV's should consider changing it so they do. Pool the resources sold to them and sell them to players at a markup.

Not something else to put crafters etc out of work (the CU and RotW have been bad enough, by not giving cybernetics creation to DEs and installtion to docs, and all those free ships that aren't made by SWs).
People will want to mine to sell to crafters. If the mining stations resold, that would take that whole system off the vendors and bazaar. A bit as if all those starship chassis NPCs also sold looted ship components.
