Hi all
I have been playing SWG for nearly a year, of which about 4 or 5 months I have been shipwright. I mastered a week or so ago but during this time I have been RE'ing what I can. I have been RE'ing for guildee's and only now have got my 1st part of the firespray schematic after what must be about a hundred or so RE's.
How do you have the patience, or the loot, to get them all !?!? You must spend days in space getting the loot, or is there a way of increasing the chance of getting a part?
Regards
Days? Try weeks... still feel it's almost too easy. About two weeks ago I suddenly decided I wanted the Firespray, so put all myrealRE jobs on hold and started grinding tier 1 fighters to get as much low level parts as possible, thus increasing the numbers of "rolls on the dice" I'd get. I have this realy good tier 1 spawn point where I've been sitting solo in my YT-1300's top turret for 6-8 hours a day, shooting ships non stop.
It's realy not hard, and I don't think a few weeks of grinding is too long. The ship SHOULD be random. I managed to get between 1-3 discs per day (from what I can tell, the chance seems to be 1%) and today I found that number 6/8 disc that has been so elusive for more than a week. With that last disc, I had the following discs:
2 x 1/8
5 x 2/8
6 x 3/8
3 x 4/8
2 x 5/8
1 x 6/8
4 x 7/8
3 x 8/8
As you can see, I've been getting my fair share of doubles, but it never bothered me. Another 6/8 disc and I'll complete my second set.
For the record, I recieved 5 uses on the schematic. Made one for myself, gave three away and I'm gonna sell the last one unless Aubrea makes it to master pilot extremely fast. The rest of my friends will have to wait for my second set, but I expect to have that one completed in a few days...
Geez. 1%?
I've been a Master SW since 30 minutes after JTL went live. I've done about 2,500 RE jobs so far (almost exclusively on L1 and L2 parts).
So far I've gotten exactly 2 Firespray disks.
2.
Ouch ... thats not good. I managed to get my 2nd part yesterday after a guildee dropped off over 150 loot parts so managed to RE about 25+ parts in total.
In regards to RE parts ... what do people do with them, aside use the really good ones?
Generally I have found that guildee's are only really interested in cert IV or above so have put others on my vendor at 1k each just to get rid of them. Is there any profit in selling them, and if so how much do you sell them for?
Oh, I do realise it is all dependant on the server but was wondering what sort of 'ball park' figure people sold them at.
Regards
The guild I'm in does it this way. I setup a vendor in our guild hall for all Space Loot. my guildies offer all unwanted space loot to the vendor at 1000 * RE level (a lvl1 would be 1000 and a lvl10 would be 10000). Many of the guildies offer stuff up for 1cr if they don't need the cash.
I look through the loot and reject anything that is good. Like a LvL6 engine a guildmate offered for 1 credit yesterday that had 92.2 speed!! When I see good loot I reject it and send the guildy an email letting them know I rejected it and why. I provide some short training on what are good stats along with the email.
I re all the stuff and can normally make a couple decent items out of all the loot. I then put the decent stuff back on the vendor for ((1k * RE lvl)*RE lvl)+500. A LvL1 RE'ed item would sell back for 1500 and a lvl 10 RE'ed item would sell back for 100500. This gets me some credits back on some of the stuff.
The garbage I RE into garbage I just take to the Chassis dealer and sell it to him. This also gets me back some of the credits I put into this.
I am loosing credits on this in the short term but in the long run, when I sell a KSE I'll make back what I loose. Well, if I didn't sell the KSE's to guildies for cost + 20% I would make some money....hehehe... I figure the KSE's should go to guildies first at a very resonable price. Once all my Guildmates have KSE's I'll sell them on the open market and maybe hold a few to give to Guild pilots that make thier First Ace and for those whomake the 9 Ace club.
lol, so, if you really want a KSE you should come check out The Republic Underground, Twighlight Mist on Talus....
Any way, just an idea so you don't keep filling up those houses. It seems to be working well for us. The other SW's in the guild can also buy the items from the vendor for what I paid for them (before I re stuff I put it on the vendor for 1k * RE level so the other SW's have a chance to get the Kuat disks also).

I'm not gunning for the Firespray. Ship sucks anyway.
When I get a disk, well I get a disk no big deal. Missing 3 & 5 got a few spares:
But I don't care. I'll get them all sooner or later.Haven't gotten a disk in months.
Missconception. It may not rule in PvP, but it's the bane of anything in PvE. If you don't find it awesome in PvE you're just flying it badly, simple as that.1. The reported 100/100/50 PYR is way off if you ask me. It takes some time, but once you find the speed "sweetspot", the Firespray can pretty much turn on a penny. If you fiddle with the speed settings correctly while flying, it handles like an A-wing.
2. 2 missiles and 2 guns is the perfect setup for a ship of that mass. Compare it to the Krayt, where 1 of the 3 SP guns is useless since it's hardpoints are spread so widely that the bolts will simply pass any target by on it's sides. Then you have the extra MP turret. Lot of good that will do you, I've yet to see a turret work well in PvE or PvP, and I doubt I will untill they make turrets able to stay on target even though the ship is turning.3. With only 2 guns, the Firespray allows you to use much heavier parts overall than on the Krayt.4. The placement of the gun hardpoints is superb! It's truly the best part of the ship when it comes to PvE. Be it a gunboat or a Corvette, you WILL own it in a Firespray. When you flip that sucker upside down you'll be able to take out Corvette turrets and such things without EVER getting shot at. Never again. Leave the shields at home. Armor? Why, I have a Firespray...5. Not realy that important, but it's more or less the only ship that allows you to see stuff if you fly in cockpit view. I like to fly in cockpit view since it makes it feel more real, but I rarely do since most ships will make you completely blind to your surroundings in this view. the firespray has got a nice and open window...One should also remember that the ship is simply cool. And don't give me that "Boba Wannabee"-yapping. That might be the matter for some, but for most it's just a matter of looks. It's gorgeous. Textures are spiffy. Engine noise is insanely cool.Plain and simple, it only "sucks" in PvP, and PvP is, what? 1% of all space combat? I can live with that...

100% agree, firespray is a kick a$$ capitol ship buster, easy the best of the heavy fighter / bomber class ships.
Oh and i've been shipwright for an age now and still no Kuat disk

A fellow guildee uses his quite alot and to be honest i'm not that impressed, yes it looks and sounds cool but does seem to be quite sluggish in the turning etc.
I'm more than happy with my phat x-wing which I've manegd to get a decent shield and weapon but then I tend to use it for mining !!
As for the schematic parts ... got 2 now ![]()

Well I've made 20 Firesprays now, the last 2 batches (a 6 and a 3) pre-pub23 and broke 214k mass at 94% experiment.
I have to say the last batch sold for 9 million a piece waaay faster than the 213.6k mass ones at 7 mill a piece, very odd but I hope to get another complete set soon since they seem to be a hot commodity right now.
I generally RE 30-40 things every day or 2 and have gotten lots of disks in the last few months.
