Thread: How do you have the patience to get schematic for a firespray !!

It took me almost a full month after JTLS was released before I got my first disk. I RE'd several hundred items. Then, about 2 months ago, I had a run on disk drops. They seem to come about every 30-40 sessions, instead of the usual 100+. Within a week, I had 12 more disks. Now, they seem to come about onceevery 100 sessions again.

Unfortunately, I also had quite a few repeats. Not long ago, I had accumulated 28 disks, but on my server #8 seems to be the very rare one. I had no less than 3 of each, but not one #8. I finally had to trade with another SW on my server to complete the series. I got 5 from the schematic. I had to do this again to get my second one.

Last week, I completed another schematic. Got 6 ships off of this one. Three are sitting on my vendor at 6mill each.

I'm waiting for another #8 to get myfourth schematic.

Most people I know who want the Firespray like it for it's looks and performance in PvE. It's anice ship, when matched up with top-notch components, and has enough mass to handle it. I mated mine up with an RE'd engine that has a PYR of 83-84-80 and a speed of 97.7. It flys just fine, thank you very much!

On another post I read that people were suggesting to hold of RE'ing till after pub24 due to reactor drain?

Not really noticed it, have RE'd quite a few bits, but will it make that much diff after pub24?

Right now Energy Drain on RE components is not getting the RE bonus.

This will be fixed with P24.

Please, deliver any items I buy to my "Astilleros AT - Ventas al publico" vendor. Naboo 6620 -4324

Gotcha ... so when u RE it just takes the best on from the components. To b honest the only stuff I RE I tend to use with cap overcharge anyway so not really a prob.

Thanks for the info

never really considered flying a KSE, even when i got my first schem (had to sell them all as i was POOR). After reading some of this i am changing my mind.

the ship that i used the most though my pilot grind was the bell-22. I have just changed to an Oppressor and it is quite a bit heavier. The way i see it, if you fly a KSE it coudl be slower, but you will have enough mass to plug in a high performance, high mass crafted engine. Thus making it comparble to the lighter ships in the game. I am looking forward to getting a KSE and plugging in both my REd Borstel guns.

MWUHAHAHAHA.

Hi all

I have been playing SWG for nearly a year, of which about 4 or 5 months I have been shipwright. I mastered a week or so ago but during this time I have been RE'ing what I can. I have been RE'ing for guildee's and only now have got my 1st part of the firespray schematic after what must be about a hundred or so RE's.

How do you have the patience, or the loot, to get them all !?!? You must spend days in space getting the loot, or is there a way of increasing the chance of getting a part?

Days? Try weeks... still feel it's almost too easy. About two weeks ago I suddenly decided I wanted the Firespray, so put all myrealRE jobs on hold and started grinding tier 1 fighters to get as much low level parts as possible, thus increasing the numbers of "rolls on the dice" I'd get. I have this realy good tier 1 spawn point where I've been sitting solo in my YT-1300's top turret for 6-8 hours a day, shooting ships non stop.

It's realy not hard, and I don't think a few weeks of grinding is too long. The ship SHOULD be random. I managed to get between 1-3 discs per day (from what I can tell, the chance seems to be 1%) and today I found that number 6/8 disc that has been so elusive for more than a week. With that last disc, I had the following discs:

2 x 1/8

5 x 2/8

6 x 3/8

3 x 4/8

2 x 5/8

1 x 6/8

4 x 7/8

3 x 8/8

As you can see, I've been getting my fair share of doubles, but it never bothered me. Another 6/8 disc and I'll complete my second set.

For the record, I recieved 5 uses on the schematic. Made one for myself, gave three away and I'm gonna sell the last one unless Aubrea makes it to master pilot extremely fast. The rest of my friends will have to wait for my second set, but I expect to have that one completed in a few days...

Geez. 1%?

I've been a Master SW since 30 minutes after JTL went live. I've done about 2,500 RE jobs so far (almost exclusively on L1 and L2 parts).

So far I've gotten exactly 2 Firespray disks.

I take my RE'd level 1 parts to the chassis dealer, he gives me 1K for each one.

Ouch ... thats not good. I managed to get my 2nd part yesterday after a guildee dropped off over 150 loot parts so managed to RE about 25+ parts in total.

In regards to RE parts ... what do people do with them, aside use the really good ones?

Generally I have found that guildee's are only really interested in cert IV or above so have put others on my vendor at 1k each just to get rid of them. Is there any profit in selling them, and if so how much do you sell them for?

Oh, I do realise it is all dependant on the server but was wondering what sort of 'ball park' figure people sold them at.

As a shipwright, it is your duty to make sure your guildmates understand the value of certain lvl 1-2 components. Capacitors is a great example. You can easily RE a lvl 2 Capacitor with 1k+ in energy and a mass of less than 1.5k. That capacitor will be worth a ton on any ship as it will be up to par with lvl 6 or higher crafted Caps, but the mass is so low it's almost silly. Same goes for reactors, a lvl 1 Reactor can generate up to 11-12k of energy. Used with Reactor Overload that can suffice for some ships, and the mass will be extremely low, allowing for bigger guns.

Both examples above I'd sell for a minimum of 500k creds (Minimum!) and they would sell the second a pilot that knows what he's doing notices it.

But to answer your question, I use the following rules to decide what to do with REd parts:

  • If the parts are crap, I'll sell them to the Chassis Dealer, no matter the level. I get a lot of crappy higher level RE jobs since I save all my loot, even the odd-numbered Boosters, Engines and Capacitors. REing those 7 lvl 7 Caps will result in a piece of crap part, but it will still give me one a roll on the Kuat dice AND 7k in creds.
I usualy make about 200k-800k per week by selling the REd pars I don't want to the Chassis Dealer.

  • If the part is good, I charge by quality and usability, NOT by level! I have no actual set price, but I have taken the time to study how good parts can get, what they will sell for on forum auctions, how much they are in demand and so forth, so I'll just charge what I think an experienced pilot would be willing to pay for it.

I strongly suggest you visit www.spaceloot.com (down at the moment, hope it gets fixed reeeeal soon.). It's a GREAT site that makes it easy to see how high or low any said value on any said part and level can get. It will give you avarage values on all parts registered on the site, a handy chart that states special "rules" for all types of components.

For the trash L1 and L2 RE's when looking for disk parts, I just stand next to the chassis dealer when I'm REing and just dump them all on him when my inventory gets full. It's only 1-2k a pop, but it really adds up.
