If SWs are the ONLY profession that is getting hammered on this (except to a lesser extent master artisans with speeders) then why shouldn't we get an advantage on harvesting. My suggestion:At Master Shipwright, a player gets a skill mod that adds 50% to harvestor extraction rates. What do y'all think? I mean, granted this can be abused by said SW turning around and selling resources to other players, but if they do, it will also flood the market with more resources, and as such, lower prices for resources galaxy-wide. The coding should not be terribly impossible, probably very similar to the code needed for merchants to get discounts on structures.Open to feedback! Lets bang out a solution here instead of just criticizing.
The better solution would be to bring into existence a real miner profession. One that would have a bonus to the BER of any harvester they use. One that has access to higher BER capable harvesters and can place special mining platforms into areas normal players simply cannot, like hilly areas and water areas, like lakes/rivers.
The answer is a profession that can better acquire resources in much higher quantities that is geared to dedicate itself to collecting inorganic resources. (And one geared towards organic resources with perhaps an overlapping resource type in 'Water' only.)
That sort of profession(s) would do more to help the shipwright and other crafters economy better then anything else right now.

Or an even better idea: introduce a new super-heavy harvestor (say, BER 16 or 18) that everyone can use. That will really open up the resource spigot, and it will give Archs something new to sell.
I think giving Shipwrights a harvesting bonus sets a bad precedent, and really makes no sense. We're ship builders, not miners. If they're going to start giving professions harvesting bonuses, I'd rather they reintroduce the Miner profession.

Very bad idea IMHO.
I can barely afford to keep going as it is now. Then I would have to buy another 12 or so harvesters at like 150K cr + to try to catch up?????
Thats ANOTHER 2 million CR I dont have
