I'm a big proponent of using my own crafted parts in my ship where applicable. For certain applications it's not possible. If I want my light fighter to be the best it can, RE'd equipment is the way to go. As good as my resources are I cannot make a weapon with under 10k mass, 3k damage with .670 to BOTH shields and armor. If any of you can I'd like to see it. So, in order to increase damage and decrease mass I have started using RE'd equipment where I can in my ship. I also haven't seen a crafted engine with under 10k mass, 96 top speed, PYR all in the high 60's...one or two stats yes..but not all.
I've been here since launch and I'll be here when they shut the servers down. They've said all along that crafted components are better than loot. Well it's just not the case here. Prove me wrong if you can, but don't come at me with single stats. I'm talking overall for each component....good reverse engineering beats good crafted everyday of the week.

Obviously you haven't seen my cert lvl 4, 93 speed, YPR 70+, 3k mass engines I looted then.
Or my 2553 shields with a 15.63 recharge. Or my 4100 damage blaster.
Anyhow, all this loot was REALLY rare, and when it comes to drop rates like this, I think the ratio is spot on. Certain loot SHOULD be better than crafted parts. If they weren't, I'd have virtually no reason to fly anymore, god knows PvP isn't viable when you're the only guy in Deep Space.
Nope I have'nt casue i'm on a different server to you. But i agree thet SOME loot (IE lvl10) should be better but it has to be rare enough so that is does'nt impact on sales like it does withvirtually ALLdroid interfaces and weapon caps do

It appears as if you're wrong, are you using sub-componants? Are you using resources with the appropriate stats for each componant? If you cant beat 90% of the loot that drops(disregarding boosters and caps), then you're doing something wrong mate, sorry.
Actually, you're right and wrong yourself. The components you compare represent components that SWs can craft and compete with looted components. In addition, you'll find that player crafted armor is generally better than loot. However, if you look at boosters, capacitors and droid interfaces, you'll find that we can't compete with looted components.
