Imaridril here's the very pilot I mentioned who came up that system of checking a name by REing a level 1 item before trying it on the item he actually wants RE'd. It works superbly. Definitely worth the time it takes to ensure you're going to get the name your pilot wants, if only because it's way fun to know my name's on the equipment of one of the best pilots on the server. /grin

I'm planning to reverse engineer items and sell them on a vendor. I'd like to name these items with a custom name to help the customer identify the name and type of the part, that it was reverse engineered, and that I was reverse engineer.
Problem is, a name like "RE Level 5 Booster by Megara" is rejected (reserved by the system, whatever).
I've experimented on various combinations, and had no luck finding a custom name that consistently works. (I wish you got more than one chance!)
In your experience, what naming conventions work every time? Or have you had success selling RE'd parts without a name change?
The name does not allow numerics
RE Level Five Booster by Megara will work
Brought to you by the man who made..
SLUTBUNNIE TEN
Re'd Prepatch infero
for general purpose when I grind parts for schem pieces if it is not worth keeping, i just label them
LVL (roman numeral of level of component)
so I know how much money I lost by reengineering crap to get the thing ![]()

Roman Numerals are your friend. My typical Level 4 crafted engine reads:
MaxCorp RE lvl IV engine
